Is there any generally any difficulty order to the missions featured on the site? Furthermore, if there isn't, does anybody have any recommendations for good missions to start with (aside from St. Lucia). On that same note, are there any super difficult missions I should save until I get some practice? Thanks a lot.

I can't tell you much about difficulty of particular FMs because I played only 6 so far. From those I did, I can tell you that "Thief's Den" is short and easy, a demo of sorts. "Requiem" is the best one and the longest one I played so far and it's not very hard. "The Knighton Manor" on Difficult requires you not to use Blackjack so that makes it the hardest for me.

Many FMs belong to a specific series. That includes being part of some contest, or being set in the same universe/timeline. My order of playing them is based on that. Look it up here by sorting by Series column: http://wiki.thedarkm...or_The_Dark_Mod

You can find 7 top voted FMs here: http://forums.thedar...5-tdm-missions/

Add "Requiem" and "William Steele 1: In the North" to that list because they were released later and they are great.

Also, considering that your username is Spider guy, did you...

find the big spider in "Tears of Saint Lucia"? :P

I remember listing a some of the ones I liked by difficulty a while back.

Easier missions. These are short and not too difficult:

-Too Late

-The Outpost

-The Caduceus of St. Alban

Medium, Normal, average difficulty missions:

-The Knighton Manor

-Tears of St. Lucia (included)

-The Builder's Influence

-Return to the City

-Flakebridge Monastery (undead)

Harder missions:

-William Steele: In The North (Warning: Large)

-Old Habits 2 (a remake, should be listed in the downloader as "Old Habits")

-A Score to Settle

-The Phrase Book

-The Lich Queen's Demise (undead)

Some might disagree with said grouping of course.

Some of the early missions (included with the original 1.0 release or released a bit later) are small and on the easy side: The Crown of Penitence, The Outpost, Thieves, Too Late, Trapped! and A Special Delivery. Some are a bit rough around the edges, but their gameplay is good, straightforward thieving.

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

Well, personally I consider WS1 as pretty easy. My other mission Builder Roads was described as diffcult, too.

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
