Problem with video briefing: Text briefing holder plays

Afternoon

 

Got a small issue with the way TDM is handling videos briefings -

• If I let the video briefing play, at the end it goes straight to the shop and then objectives screen as expected.
• If I press escape while the briefing vid is playing its take me to the Text briefing place holder (which ofcource is blank)

What am I missing here, I'm guessing its some gui setting..?

I had the same issue when I made briefing for LQD. I think grayman told me the solution, but cannot remember it now. Perhaps examining the LQD pk4 will give a clue? I think I had to supply one more custom .gui file. Perhaps mainmenu_briefing.gui or something else? It contained just a change of one line or so.

Look in LQD's guis/mainmenu_briefing_video.gui.

 

You'll see Sotha's comment near the top:

 

//This file has been modified by Sotha in order to facilitate briefing videos for this mission

//All occurences of MM_STATE_BRIEFING was replaced with MM_STATE_DIFF_SELECT in order to make the mission

//not show empty briefing paper.

Do that, and you should be good.

Tried that to no effect, also I am using "mainmenu_custom_defs.gui" to play the .ROQ video file.

Grayman fixed the issue -

 

What needed to be done was to tell the ESC key to skip the text briefing and go straight to the Objectives screen, and if hitting the BACK key on the Objectives screen, to restart the video.
