How do I cut holes in brushes?

Sorry for dumb questions again, but I guess it's clipper tool? I can't see to figure out how to select certain vertices and then remove them between two hollowed cubes to make interconnecting regions. I'm sorry that I'm such a newbie and but I have to ask questions to learn and I'm really not good with the wiki I'm really sorry but you guys are awesome helping me out and I promise I will make a level you can play if you help me.

I am posting screenshots so you know that I've been doing some work and I'm not just BSing. :D

I'm excited to make get better at DR but it's kinda difficult when we can't sit next to each other in the same room and teach each other becuase we're all over the world on the internet making this happen. And kudos to that, because this is some mega TDM is a mega success in the independent world of real deal, hardcore stealth games, and not to mention free!

Some days I wish everyone was as into building TDM FMs as those people who just wanna soak up in the hype of Fallout 4, which is the latest flavor. I've yet to try it, I'm at that point where I want to create more than play but I have a severe learning curve with using an editor. I never even built a DOOM level. This is my first go around, and it' a match made in heaven cuz I LOVE the feel of IdTech and the speed and adrenaline and terror it pumps at you but at the same time I'm so fascinated by the depth and story and visuals, and rich world to absorb of the Dark Engine with Thief 1 & 2, so for nostalgic purposes, it's a perfect marriage.

Anyway. How do I cut through walls?

You can use CSG Subtract to your heart's content as long as it is for simple shapes. It can get messy when complex shapes intersect in weird ways, but for simple cube-from-cube operations, it is okay.

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

That's the thing, I'm having a hard time with the A-Z.

What's the problem exactly with the A-Z tutorial? I mean no offense to you really, but this was really helpful in understanding how to work out a TDM map in all its basics and it was written really nice so that even me as a foreigner can understand how things are working in this engine. B) As a second hint htere are some nice Dark Radiant tutorials online at youtube ;)

Just be sure to take your time on the A-Z tutorial and don't rush through it, since it makes you really understand the basics while giving you enough freedom to enjoy you building your fist mission!

Gosh - I'm feeling like an advertising person right now haha! :D

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.
