@Spar: Well all of the loot models in the loot directory I've made into loot items which are frobbable - including the belt one, so all we need to do is to attach it to the character and then it can be stolen :)

 

@BT: Yeah the tiara uses the goblet texture, but I'll find a better one and see how that looks. If it's still not too great then I'll just redo the model.

 

 

 

 

I've just finished an amulet:

The texture is again the goblet one, so I'm probably gonna replace it.

Yeah the pouches fit in nicely.

 

Something for later - that tiara probably doesn't have to be so many polys - I think you could probably get those ridges just as convincing using normal maps.

Even if its meant to be a special item worth a lot of polys, if you saved some using normal maps, you could spend the polys elsewhere on the tiara to make it look even better.

Just something to possibly consider.

Most of the screenshots aren't loading for me, but from what I can see the coin pouches look great. The gems and rings also seem to be good. The tiara might have to start from scratch, I think.

 

What you need to do is sync up your material files and everything with the correct model structure, and then send all the relevant files to either me or BT. We'll go through them and then upload them to CVS if there are no problems. I know BT has a lot on his plate at the moment, so I don't mind doing them if you want to put it on the FTP somewhere.

      I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

      briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
      What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
      I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

      Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

      The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

      Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )
