Great Work! - Works like a Charm, So fun! - but need a little help . . .

I did a fresh install of Doom 3 using all lower case, no spaces [c:/doom3] , patched and installed DM and it runs SO smooth graphics cranked . . .I was thinking wow, this is Thief 4! . . but I got stuck, . . I got the 1st watchman, then roofed over to get the second guy w/ torch, made it in, founsd special loot and old rusty key, plus grabbed a key off one guy, but now I'm in an area with a ladder going up, small room with an elevator going down, and a door that is locked near a Keg, but I can tell it's where I should be going . . . . up, down or out the locked door? If so where's the key to that door?

 

Mor3 later, gutta go shovel, then I'm back at it, what a great mod! -Your hard work is fantastic! - I'm putting screens up on my server later . . . . - Darrin

Hm, I wonder if anybody was inclined to write a walkthrough for this mission? I could put that up on our wiki.

 

What makes you think that people wo neither read the FAQ, the in-game map, the in-game objectives nor the already existing wiki page will read your walkthrough on the wiki? :P

ok, placed the note, found the key, made it out the door, then . .end mission, . . . all right! - Now where's all the rest of the great looking areas I saw in the screenshots?

 

- like the Abysmal Gale looking ship and Grave Yard (Screens by Pinkdot) or the Screens by Oddity, Dram, BlackThief, SneaksieDave, and all those great looking places to explore, . . . one place looked alot like the docks, another looked like south quarter . . . . how do I get to those areas? - Are they different maps to download?

Oh, I am sorry, these are not yet released. We didn't actually plan to release something so early, so Thief's Den was more an lucky circumstances :)

 

As for the other maps and the full toolkit, please have a bit more patience. We are working on them :)

      The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

      Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
