Anyone know of a good, reliable web-hosting service? I've never been happy with mine, and it's finally gotten bad enough to make it worth the hassle of switching somewhere else.

I am using pair.com (and pairnic.com) for about uh 10 years and have nothing except good things to say about them. But they are in the US and a bit expensive (but you get what you pay for) so they might not be for you.

How embarrassing this will be if we recommend the one that is giving you grief.

 

I looked up Mindplaces on a domain info site and found out the alleged hosting site is www.gate.com (aka www.hostsave.com).

Is that correct? If it is then at least we know to avoid that one. ;)

Yes, that's the one. My site has been up and down consistently for the last few weeks, and I got no response to my email about it. So I'm done with them.

gate.com, formerly hostsave.com, is complete CRAP, my wife has a site with them and it gives her a bunch of problems and they NEVER help

      The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

      Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
