The animations are too short to really tell much, but they definitely aren't bad.

I think we should sign you on as a modeler anyway, see what you can do with a character concept sketch.

From what I have seen it shows promise. I don't know how you can do realistic animations, because we don't really need cartoon style animations for our mod. The animations show at a good eye for details which is very important for that.

 

And since Oddity himself agrees, I guess you can't get any better voice than that. :)

 

You will get contributor status first. This means that you will have access only to a restricted part of the boards. Any stuff that you submit to us, will be ours to use for the mod alone. You retain your copyright of course, and you can do whatever you like with it. It only means that we are allowed to use it as well as long as we only use it for the mod.

 

If you agree to this then please register on the forum and post when you did, so we can sign you in.

Well, Diego is a kind of lead character in the game, so it is NOT that far off. :) And many people take names from lyrics or games. Well, I know I like Gothic, so I often think about it. :)

For the 3rd animation, which shows more realism than the first two, it needs some work to be a fully realistic animation. The upper body/head motions seem good, needing a little improvement, but the lower body/legs need more work. For example, when running the legs seem to be pulliing the upper body along because the upper body is too far back. The upper body should lean forward more while running. It's good to have you aboard though. Good luck!

thanks darkness falls :) its great to be here!

about the animation, needs improvement yes.. but the body will only lean foward while in the middle of the running (a run cycle for example). you can notice that when you're breaking to stop running suddenly, the body leans backwards in the last couple of steps. this way you can retain your balance with the movement of your upper body.

of course, i had a bad time trying to reproduce that! lol :) but i belive the idea is correct

I thought you might say that ;) There's just something amiss about the animation, but it's all good. I could try to explain more, but it's a demo so I don't want to say anything to discourage you. I look forward to seeing your work for the DarkMod!

      I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.
