If you're looking for a free forum software, you might want to take a look at phpBB: http://www.phpbb.com

 

This is most probably the best forum you can get without paying license fees. If you don't need it right now, I would suggest waiting for the new version 3.0, which is a huge step forward in comparison to the current phpBB 2.2.

 

edit: Redface was faster, it seems :)

Eh. phpBB is passable, but I don't really like it. I prefer SMF.

 

These forums beat both though. :)

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

I must say I really don't like your use of a Java applet to display the heading... Java chugs my system something terrible when it starts up for the first time. :( And I get (%@ Language=JavaScript %) - but with the parentheses replaced by angle brackets - displayed at the top of the page for some reason, which doesn't look like intended behaviour (Firefox 1.5).

Yeah I need to look into that, I built this website when IE4 was the browser of choice.... When its loaded, the logo shimmers nicely - is there a lighter way of doing that without using java applets..?

 

nb. Ive remplaced the applets with a pic instead for the time being and removed that eroneus java text thing.

Yeah, an animated GIF is the only way to do it without plugins.

 

Personally I'd just abandon the animation effect; it doesn't really add anything. But of course it's your site.

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
