Trigger a skin skin change on a model?

I believe that if you make an entity a target of a light that the target becomes an entity owned by light and follows the rules of the light.

I'm pretty sure this was done in TD2: Chalice of Kings.

 

If that doesn't work, you'd have to def_attach the window to the light. I can't see that being a requirement.

 

The whole point of skin_lit and skin_unlit is to have models react to light switches and it would be pretty limiting if only the entity

or def_attach items worked.

I'm pretty sure if you set start_on and set "set light_radius on flame" "110 110 125" (change the sizes if needed)

on your bounce lights and target them from the base light they should all turn off or on at the same time.

 

I'm also pretty sure you can add a delay "x" arg to targeted entities.

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
