  1. Don't know. You should count the number of finished mods, not the total number of announced ones. The reason is probably quite simple. To much work and not enough people.
  2. Hexen is also a TC that is still living, and seems to get released. That's one mod I'm looking forward to. Another one is an adventure, I think done by some netherland guy, but I haven't heard anythign about it since a long time, so it may already be dead. It looked quite nice.
  3. Yeah, it was the same for me. When I started martial arts training, I suddenly realized how similar techinques are used in wrestling and boxing. Not just the attacks, but even more so the falling and defense techinques. In wrestling even more than in boxing though. In my new club, we do a lot more boxing traning, because the trainer comes from kick-boxing, and this makes it more interesting to watch it, because you can compare how they employ the techniques. If you never thought about it, boxing might seem to you just like two blokes hitting each other until one falls down, but there is a lot of technique involved.
  4. To some extent you are right. But I guess it's quite different if you train yourself, instead of just watching it. Also you can not really compare wrestling (assuming you mean professional wrestling and not olympic), and boxing. Wrestling is entertainment. The fights are to some extent coreographed and the results are precluded. I don't like watching boxing, because I find it boring. Wrestling is quite fun though, depening on what you watch. You just shouldn't take it seriously.
  5. Yes. But that was why I was proposing to create an interface between Doom 3 and DarkRadiant, so we can reuse existing code to some extent. This has already been started by Greebo, so maybe this is one of the benefits of this.
  6. Uh! That's to sweet for me. You know, diabetes and such ...
  7. Cool! Great models and textures, as always.
  8. Isn't Server 2003 based on W2K though? Or is that the XP Server edition? Since I want to run games on it, I don't know if that would work though.
  9. SP2 is included. Don't knwo what you mean by "slipstreamed" though. Ugh! Is this really neccessary? I installed a PFW on my machine and discarded it. It didn't tell me anything usefull, and used up only resources. I'm rather relying on my Linux/Router combo for doing firewalling. Definitely. What's that?
  10. Where did you get the notion that I run Windows 98??? I was talking about W2K. How do you think I could run Doom 3 if I would still use W98?
  11. So! I have been putting this off since years, but I think now is a good time. I started to have some issues with some games, and I already considered to do a switch to XP. I wanted to wait until I have a new machine, but this will still take quite some LONG time, so I decided to reinstall now. So I wonder if there is anything you might tell me in advance to take care off. Some pitfalls I might avoid. I never used XP. I expect that it will be pretty similar to Windows 2000 though, so I hope that there will be no problem. I fear that it will take several days though until everything works as (almost) as before.
  12. Really? I started to play it and liked the atmosphere in the beginning. I found it quite boring and repititve after a short time, so I played it through with god mode to see if it offers any special stuff that we can use.
  13. Doesn't this WIKI support creating a PDF out of it? I have seen some WIKIs with such an option. Would be quite usefull. Don't know if it requires some proprietary modules though.
  14. I know a few words in Korean, because I go to Hap-Ki-Do martial arts training, which comes from there. And our trainer always insist to speak certain words in Korean, because this is required for the belt tests. I don't think that this would help you much though, because these are only a few commands, the names of the moves and stances that we have to do and counting (at least to ten). Apart from that I know Korean only from the instruction manuals which come in all kind of languages, and you can see this funny pictures which go for characters.
  15. Nice. Yet another variety with small effort. Looks really good!
  16. Maybe Spring can set it up? I could do it also, but I already have messed up the permissions before. I can see if I can take a look at it, but this will not be before tomorrow night.
  17. Yes. But if thousands of people connect, they can still cause a denial of service, even though they may not be able to get at the data.
  18. Yeah, I'm always annoyed that Quicktime uses a tray icon. What for??? The only thing this does is checking for updates, which I don't like anyway. The most useless app though is flash! When I want to disable it, I have to run the web browser???? That's erally a joke. They store my options on their own server to make sure that I have to connect to them!
  19. The sky is official. Doesn't matter where it comes from, but it was ported from Q4 AFAIK.
  20. It's not a good idea to put this info on the WIKI, because the wiki is publicy available, and my server can't handle the load if poeple get the idea to snoop around. After all, SVN is for development only, so it doesn't need to put in the WIKI, and we already have a thread about this, which we can move to the mapper forum.
  21. Yeah. We can definitely use somebody working on textures. NH, can you set him up?
  22. The water was a mod project, implemented for us by the author as far as I recall. As for the skyboxes, I seem to remember trying to rename it, but somehow I couldn't get rid of the smf part, so I left it. I didn't try very hard though, because I didn't really understand how the skyboxes worked.
  23. Yeah. I guess Spring and some artists should be involved though.
