  1. I wish you perseverance and a lot of enthusiasm! And of course, try to release it mission by mission.
  2. This is not a promise, nor any kind of pressure on other mission authors to make a specific kind of mission. But I am interested in what kind of missions you would like to see made and released for TDM. I will start with a few I would enjoy. Giant Bonehoard-style tomb-robbing mission. Self-explanatory. Something with a large area to explore, various tombs to break into, a few puzzles and traps to spice things up, and maybe some common thread to link them. I have wanted to make one for a long-long time, but haven't gotten to it yet.Weird Pagan mission: either Constantine's mansion-style craziness, or something that brings out the creepy and unsettling side of Pagans. Maybe even something like The Maw of Chaos.Mines and other underground locations. Rusty machinery, forgotten and haunted sections, flooded areas and so on.There are a lot more kind of fan missions I enjoy, of course (I enjoy most of them), but these are the ones I would love to see more of.
  3. Why would anyone want TDM merchandise?
  4. Why would that be nontiling? Seems to tile well enough to me. (It looks good, BTW!)
  5. A quick question: where can I find the pushable buttons among the resources? Neither prefabs nor entities seem to have them, yet they are commonly used for elevators and stuff in missions.
  6. I finally played the updated campaign. Solid work all around, but. This is a bit about me being a stick in the mud, especially with such a wonderful update, but I am sorry that all the wild flowers were removed from this version. They gave a wonderful character to the original NHAT, a look that was more Grimm than grim (fairy tale vs. gritty realism), and which looked wonderful as they swayed in the wind. That is a big loss. With such outstanding visual work through the mission pack as the updated caves in mission 1, the sewers and smugglers' cove in mission 2, and the little touches in mission 3, and the refined gameplay throughout, it is disappointing they of all things were cut.
  7. We really do need testers who aren't expert experts at playing. So step right up!
  8. If you are not good enough, you may just be the right kind of player to test the mission!
  9. I am serious about finding a good recording of the building and using it as an ambient. It is really good, Brosius-level work. As for buildings and intellectual property... nowadays you can't distribute photos of the Brussels Atomium or the lit-up Eiffel tower (!) due to IP tomfoolery, so I wouldn't be surprised.
  10. But that's the Old Quarter ambient from Thief! Of course I would love to have it in the mod.
  11. The new lights look like something that could crop up in Metropolis. WRT their level of detail, if they are not used much in outdoors areas, a higher than average tri count is probably not absolutely relevant. Plus, as hardware gets better, even as this process has slowed down recently, it becomes less and less important.

    Give Me Deus Ex

You can now vote for this mod on Moddb. I think you should, and I have done it already.
  13. Playing this again, I am once again reminded what an excellent mission it is! I have found not one but multiple new ways to infiltrate and rob my target. This mission doles out spaces like no other. There are so many locations that are just there - streets, houses, balconies that all serve to make the place more complex. Some people would consider it wasteful or even confusing, but in truth, it is just overly generous. We are not worthy!
  14. You can't just link pictures of Beckford's Folly without mentioning William Beckford himself! The man was as crazy and almost as rich as Constantine (although his building projects ended up wrecking his fortune). He was basically designing and building crazy, super-ambitious fan missions before he could do it in Dromed or DarkRadiant. He also wrote Vathek, which is worth reading if you like gothic novels.
  15. Capela: You definitely need to visportal your level! That's very important for the exteriors just as much as the interiors. I learned it the hard way with Return to the City (and then again and again). Perhaps Bikerdude can help you with some suggestions, since he is really good at VP-ing almost impossible places. If you've got visportals, you can use all shadowcasting lights all the time.
  16. I could very much use the fire elemental. Not in my current mission, but the one I expect to complete in the second half of the next year.
  17. In its time, Dromed Deluxe had a huge "exhibit hall" showcasing all the extra items and AI that came with it, so the idea works.
  18. That's one good-looking lamp. Not a steam lamp, though!
  19. Two steps back, both of you gentlemen. Count to ten. Now resume if you still insist. Thanks!
  20. Yeah, the core mod can seem like it is slow to adapt new things and fairly conservative, but on the other hand, unlike other mod communities, TDM is not known for its horse penis mods either.
  21. Probably not worth it. I have posted a few TDM- and Thief-related posts on my Tumblr, tagged appropriately, and got minimal exposure.
  22. I'd recommend GIMP. It can do a lot of useful things, for free.
