  1. Hmm, here's a link to 1.7 version. It's also available from the original post in this thread. I'll get the link problem looked at. Hit the Down arrow top right on this link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IEiv8WbeHO-HqapmhdQgPtKEdHS5zsSu/view?usp=sharing Thanks Neon
  2. Hi, There was an issue with that, which was fixed. Download the updated map. I think the current version is 1.7 (check the notes or readme to see which version you have). If you have 1.7, let me know and I'll take a look at it. I know I can read that newspaper in the current version.
  3. Congratulations on your first mission. I'm playing it atm, n it's a very nice mission. I like the design of the warehouse.
  4. I love architecture from different cultures. The music is cool too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AMlOCtS6Ds
  5. As I said, I know nothing about models. I only know how to use them. I guess this is why our statue models are such low poly. I don't really mind on the poly count, it's cause the level I'm working on is a fishing village, and it would really benefit from an icon of the sea in the main part of the town.
  6. Thanks. As for the secret switch. I'm a firm believer in realism; and a lot of people like to have these things easily found, but in keeping with immersion, I feel in real life it would never be easy to spot. I find making it harder to find, is more enjoyable. Making it easy in my mind, breaks the 4th wall.
  7. There isn't anything like Neptune there. What I wanted was a neptunian statue pointing out to sea. The place I'm working on is very decrepid, so I think since I can't find that, maybe this might suit? This isn't from that site though. Failing that, I guess the other one would do, though it doesn't have the same feel. I've been searching for a model of a neptune statue, but knowing zero about modelling, I have no idea what I can use and what I can't. lol https://www.3dcadbrowser.com/download.aspx?3dmodel=42367 http://threedscans.com/musee-des-monuments-francais/le-transi-de-rene-de-chalon/
  8. Ep 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfFngZkIelU&t=281s Ep 2. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RRpiGlZA00&t=309s
  9. This is completely new to me. I know nothing about this, or making models. How do I use these scan .obj files?
  10. Awesome level, and a great tribute to the man. Loved the design. The house was beautifully lit. My only gripe was it was a little easy on expert, could've done with some more guards inside I thought; but still really enjoyed ghosting it. Thanks, I'm sure Gary would be pleased!
  11. As I said in the message you quoted, I'm looking for a game asset, not the real thing lol
  12. I mean AI sized model for the game. I wanted a Neptune (man pointing out to sea holding a Trident with a snake coiled around his legs and hips). Definitely don't want the real thing lol It's for my level.
  13. As a tip for patches which took me ages to find out. When texturing patches, you'll notice sometimes the texture is terribly distorted. The trick is to make a brush in the plane you want the texture to be, texture that; then edit/copy shader and paste it to the patch. It distorts because the source of the texture was a different plane. Also, remember detail detail detail the heck out of it, and when you think you're done, go back and do some more. lol Before you release, let others who are more experienced, take a look and give you any guidance. Someone you admire is a good choice. Happy mapping, it's so much fun
  14. Good to know, I'll make sure the player gets them rather than having to find them.
  15. Heyo All, JUST TO BE CLEAR! I'm looking for a game model, not a real statue. I'm looking for a life size statue of Neptune [Game Asset], preferably with Trident and snake coiling around his lower half. Anyone have anything similar to that? Doesn't have to have the snake.
  16. The other thing I'd love to see in the game is water physics; so you can have water behave as expected, rather than just water textures. You could make some really cool realistic waterfalls, beach scenes etc with that. Creating Surf albiet small is almost impossible atm I think.
  17. Sadly, that doesn't help a lot, as it's more painting an object than painting multiple HD textures onto it. Thanks any way HMart.
  18. 1. For me. In physics, I'd like to be able to have a hanging ragdoll which didn't glitch out, and behaved correctly. 2. Being able to layer textures: ie Lay down one texture, then the following one, being able to adjust the transparency in editor of following ones. This would let us have a far wider variety of effects on textures than just our limited set of decals. ie Stone wall; layered with moss, vines. Currently, we'd either need that texture, or decals for both the final layers. Being able to layer in a more broad way would be amazing. 3. Being able to add cut scenes to an in game level, ie after the level has started. That'd be wicked.
  19. Does anyone have a really nice Thatched roof texture & material file? Also a rough old red timber beam ie with knots as in hewn branch? We have a couple thatched roof textures, but they are not very HD and over a roof scale, they tend to look very blurry.
  20. Just remember to save your map as a different version each save. ie map_1, map_2 so if you screw up you can go backwards. If you really get stuck, ask someone to take a look at your map.
  21. Could you do a video tutorial on doing that please? PM me the link if you do. Orbweaver, I said it was a dumb thing to do lol. Methinx you are misreading me.
  22. Raven, if you're going to be working through your level, you might want to create a Ravens Learning to Map or something where you can ask all your questions and have them all in one place so you can go back to find things you've forgotten. (You will need that). Call it whatever you like, it doesn't matter. Just ask all your questions there. Happy mapping.
