  1. No responses. I created a bug report: https://bugs.thedarkmod.com/view.php?id=6238
  2. I think you could try mission Deadeye as a start. Then the included missions (A new Job and Tears of Stlucia). After that COS0: To Catch a Thief . But there are multiple topics about this.
  3. Hi what does menu item Map -> Fixup Map... do? I could not find any info about it in the wiki.
  4. I think the version is fine (sort of) if you don't dmap before play, or dmap with 2.10 or later. I'm investigating subtitle software, so if I understand how to do that I could give that a shot. And I see the mission has no EFX yet?
  5. Btw. you can make a DR filter to filter everything away except volumetric lights, so you could check a map on them. Maybe still too much work though. Maybe more (technical) features should be listed here in a separate column: https://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Fan_Missions_for_The_Dark_Mod
  6. Oh and also (at least in 2.10) Tdm first install still creates an empty directory called saintlucia aside from the existing stlucia folder.
  7. I dare you to make a mission intro with your painted minitures.
  8. I tried dmapping just now (2.11) and In a quick test can't reproduce the issue in the place of the screenshot. Dmap does give 17 lin files.
  9. I wonder if there could be made a check on background color of gui file and then apply a darkening filter on top of the gui based on that information. I get that there are more colors in a background file, but maybe check for the lightest as a base. I think it should at least be possible to make a list of applied semi-transparent darkening gui overlays and then apply them via a script via if statements (if this readable gui -> load this gui overlay, etc.). Can you still share the code?
  10. Currently the mission downloader let's you navigate during download. You can even start a mission or exit TDM. If you click on a mission details (More...) page, the dialog does not show untill downloads finish. Request / advice : Disable clicking during downloading. So when downloading starts you can click on things, but nothing happens, or a dialog apears for a second that you can't do anything during downloading (more work). Apart from that I think the Download All button should be removed.
  11. One is A house of locked secrets. Which is the other one?
  12. Yeah ok, just wondering what the usual fix is.
  13. If you knock out an ai and he jumps up and instantly dies, is there a usual reason for this happening and how to fix this? I saw this behaviour while testing Deadeye (during beta) and now I see it happening in another mission.
  14. For what it's worth: I saw in some old tdm-campain map that bikerdude tagged his name as a spawnarg in everything that he build in that map. I guess it's good for filtering. So I think if the script can add the map file as a spawnarg to everything (brushes, entities, etc.) that is build in the map file automatically before merging, then in the merged map file you can easelly filter everything out that is build from one map file. Except if there is a better way.
  15. I have been thinking of changing this page so nothing is collapsed. But find it difficult to just do it since Petike made that page. As a workaround, I found you can load the source view of that page and then search for it to see where it is located. What do you like instead? Anyway, it can be used as a basis and then stuff can be changed. Like fonts etc. Edit: Here are some more darkmode skins: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Category:Skins_with_dark_mode Maybe some can be installed to test out. Wiki editors can change the skin in Preferences > Appearence when logged in.
  16. My dream is for a new modern mediawiki theme. For example https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Skin:Citizen
  17. Interesting, but what I see in the screenshots looks like the difference between the light and dark area's get's slimmer.
  18. I don't think it's so much an engine limitation. I think it's more an assets limitation. Some missions use a lot of external stuff (textures, models, etc.) and they look better.
  19. I guess you can use blocks of calc or something to outline the regions of the other files. Those calc-blocks are not synced, but you can see where the other map files take place so you don't overbuild. Just my idea, not sure if needed.
  20. Since map files are just text files (I mean you can edit inside a text file), I would say you can make some sort of syncing program / script. Doesn't sound impossible to me. Cannot be synced in realtime and DR doesn't have a reload map button I think (would be nice). I recently tried to create advanced filters and when you wrap your head around it they seem a great alternative for layers, but maybe it takes more time to create them and maybe less useful if you want to filter groups of specific worldspawn with same texture, not sure if possible then.
  21. I don't see a retro-aesthetics-charm in TDM, so I don't know what you mean by that. I think that almost everything that I would like to see being prettier in this game can be done without changing the engine. And like Hmart said, the engine is constantly getting upgrades. Not the same as regular AAA games where you're usually stuck with an engine state.
  22. If I create a new skin in the skin editor it creates a new skin with name new_skin . When I try to edit the name DR immediately crashes. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? But it should not crash at least. Using DR 3.7.0 under Linux
  23. If I try to select a mission in the Mission pulldown selector in the Game Setup dialog, the list is not sorted alphabetically. As stated, this is DR 3.7 in Linux.
