Didn't know where to put this really...

 

Using Vista, then Seven, I felt TDM lacked one of those oh-so-pretty scaling icons withs lotsa added bling-bling, so I just created one.

 

It's not top quality stuff, just something I made in a few minutes, but still, if someone's interested...

Nice license! I'm wondering, what is that curved line with the haze on top half? Is that your own design or something they do in 7?

 

Circle selection, invert selection, insert gradient FG color -> transparent (in Gimp, that is). Home-made, thus. ;)

Could you make a version w/o that, or just save it as XCF file (gimps native format) with layers? I am not too fond of the "glass" look :)

Mmh, I'll try to create a bit more then... Can't promise anything for the broken glass effect (though THAT would be nice and fitting), but I'll try :)

 

@Tels: Created on a .ico "framework", so to speak. I'll recreate something as close to this one as I can. ^^

 

EDIT - Well, after recreating it... There were NO layers. You just have to take a shot of the loading screen, crop it, resize and you're done. I'll upload a blank .ico, so you can see which size goes in which layer :)

Here's a blank one. The layers are pretty self-explanatory :)

I'll gimp a "vanilla" one right away.

 

About the broken glass effect : well, I tried to add that and it looks... plain stupid in fact. The icon is way too dark and small to get something correct out of it. A pity, really. :(

 

Now I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to remove everything except the clock for the smaller-size layers. It's not too... readable right now. I'll give it a few tries. :P

      Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
