Objectives keep reverting changes

Is there some trick to editing an objective? I have a particular no-kill objective that is causing me significant frustration.

Right now it is set to be on for Hard and Expert. I just want it on Expert. I uncheck the Hard box, hit OK. Load up the objectives and check it again, just be to be sure, and only the Expert box is checked. Good.

Save the map, dmap it, load it, and the No Kill is active on Hard. Load up the map in DR, and the Hard box is checked again. WTF? This has already happened three times now. It happened on this same objective with a different detail, though that one eventually stuck.

Is there some step to editing an objective that I'm missing?

One thing that comes to mind which I've done myself a few times: When you go into edit and set Hard then click OK and go back to the main editor you MUST also click the OK on that main editor page not just close it. I think that final OK is what writes it to the entity.

Another thing I've sometimes done but I don't think it applies here is test play the wrong version number, eg, been entering map mymap77 so many times that when I just incremented to mymap78 and saved from DR I still entered map mymap77 out of habit. I have sometimes gone crazy trying to figure out what I'm seeing. Both DR and TDM running. Keep editing and saving mymap78 from DR. Keep pulling up the map mymap77 history and running it in TDM! D'oh!

Hmm, maybe I did that, I don't know. I'll keep it in mind for the future, thanks.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.
