Oke what did i do wrong, i made a door it worked, attached 2 plates to it Then used the bind command on 2 knobs i positioned.

Dmap then i try to play - Tryed to bind world to another entity

I tryed to rename one handle they both rename, do door handles have to have seperate names?

Classname of the knob is worldspawn is this oke, i cannot seem to change that.

Heeeeelp this prob put me off building for about a month.

You need to convert the doornob(s) to func_static. All entities can be changed by clicking on the classname in Entity Inspector then using the button at the bottom but worldspawn is different to protect us from accidentally changing all worldspawn I think. So to change doornobs made of worldspawn to any entity you need to select it then right click in ortho view and use the create entity option. However, there is a shortcut if you want to make them func_static - on that same RMB menu is 'convert to func_static.' Saves you finding it in the list.

A doornob on either side of a door can of course be made into a single func_static but both will be processed by the renderer even though one is on the other side of a closed door visportal so maybe make them separate func_statics.

Other options: If the knobs are round then not much point in having them rotate when opening the door. I left them as func_static on some brass knobs I did. But if you are making handles then consider instead of func_static, make them mover > atdm:mover_door_handle and they will then function to turn and to indicate lockpicking progress.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.
