64 bit Win 7

Does the Dark Mod work with the 64 bit version of Win 7... The patched Doom 3 works beautifully. I just can't get TDM to work at all. I read on some post that 64 bit Linux needs some kind of 32 bit libraries. Where would I find those for Win7 ?

(Not on my machine, In Europé, but it works excellent )

My hobby built desktop is: XFX Play Hard-nVidia nForce 790i Ultra SLI

Onboard is:

CPU: Intel Socket 775

VGA: nVidia GeForce EVGA GTX-260

RAM: DDRIII 16Gb

HDD: 2 Tb

OS: 64bit Win 8.1

All service packs and latest drivers installed.

Haven't had a single error on win7 x64, and I've been playing TDM on it for half a year now.

BD and Xarg, what version of Catalyst Control Center do you use? If it's post 11.11, did you experience the upside-down turned screen? Before I install the ATI Tray Tools I'd like to know if this will remedy my issue.

BD, thats the version I have, and the screen is still stretched and upside down. Don't know about the sky, as it's kind of a moot point - if one thing isn't working, then the other thing not working doesn't matter anyway, does it?

I'm currently using 10.10, I had the upside down screen when using bloom and 10.2 I think. Disabling Catalyst AI has fixed all the issues. If you can't do that, maybe go back 1-2 revisions of the driver until you can disable it and try that?

Yeah, so radeon users will still have to turn of catalyst Ai then.

I rolled back my driver once, and the screen is still upside-down. I don't think I can roll back any more - this is a new computer and I only recently installed the GPU driver for the first time. But it WAS right-side-up at one point in the past. So frustrating. Is nvidia generally better than ATI, in terms of compatibility?

I'll do that if ATT won't work. Haven't yet found the time to do that, the kids are sick and I have mountains of work before me. :(

Nasty file removed does not run for me. It just reports and error, a missing dll.

Also, it appears to be impossible for me to install an older driver. If I try to install the older driver, it won't because I already have a newer one. If I uninstall my driver first, the GPU disappears from my the device manager control panel. Then if I try to install the old driver, it also doesn't install, for unknown reasons (possibly because the GPU is not detected?) If I "reinstall" the GPU from so it appears in the device manager, windows automatically installs the newest driver again. Kafka couldn't have planned it any better. This pisses me off so much. AMD GPU... NEVER AGAIN! Next time I'm getting nvidia, I don't care how hot the card gets or how much noise it makes, at least it will fucking work. So much for dark mod. :(

Rather than the generic ATI driver, I would try to find the one from your Video Card vendor's site... That said, the Rage3d forums are advising using an application called "Radeon Pro" to restore the ability to disable Catalyst AI:

Please visit TDM's IndieDB site and help promote the mod:

(Yeah, shameless promotion... but traffic is traffic folks...)

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.
