The XBOX 360 thread

Hey people. My brother has an Xbox 360 which I currently have access to, so I am seeking fun/good games that aren't available on the PC. I am guessing some of the people around here have an Xbox too, so lets share thoughts.

 

Already on my list to play:

• Shadows of the Damned: Slapstick-Horror-Action-Game
  
• Alan Wake: I guess everybody knows this one
  
• Halo Reach
  
• Red Dead Redemption
  
• L.A. Noire
  
• Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
  
• Condemned 2
  

 

What I recently played:

• Dante's Inferno: Ok-game if you don't feel like thinking at all for once. I prefer Darksiders when it comes to Hack'n Slay though.
  
• Bayonetta: Also Hack'n Slay, but this game is so damn fun. The leveldesign is absolutely freaky and dynamic, e.g. walking on a skyscraper-tall boss itself while hitting it with your weapons. You're constantly surprised with new astonishing things, which are simply spectacular for the most part. This game can best be described as awkward but breathtaking.
  
• Wet: Action shooter, stopped playing after a while, because it got boring.

When I had a 360 I mostly played the arcade games and really enjoyed some of them, like Lode Runner, Geometry Wars (1 and 2), some kingdoms board game (can't remember the name - there were tiles and farms and stuff), many others I can't remember.

I don't have a 360, but I've been considering getting one. If I do get one, the games I will check out are: *Perfect Dark Zero: I loved the first game but have heard bad things about this. Would still like to try it though. *Halo 3/Reach *whatever the newest Burnout game is *Duke Nukem Forever

If you haven't played it on the PC, I'd recommend Condemned: Criminal Origins.

I loved Silent hill 2 back in the days, so Silent Hill is always nice. I am also highly interested in uncharted, but apparently it's PS3 only.

The newest one is burnout paradise, which is also available for the pc.

 

If you haven't played it on the PC, I'd recommend Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Oh yes, OF COURSE. Condemned 2!! The first game was awesome. In fact, I just recently replayed it half a year ago...

Also, did you ever play Breakdown for the original XBOX? It was pretty cool because *everything* you did was in first person. It had body awareness but it didn't suck. It was more of a fighting game than a blast fest. My favorite aspect of the game was that the main villain would occasionally show up to pound the crap out of the player if he/she didn't run like hell in a few spots.

 

 

There is one part near the beginning of the game where you're going through a lab and he shows up and gives chase. You're running down the halls and you come to a door that takes *forever* to get open, all the wile he's still coming! I can still remember the music that played at this part of the game and it just added to the tension. Of course he is invincible in these few situations.

 

 

The biggest downside to the game was that it is completely linear. If there is a hallway with lots of doors, you're only going to be able to enter one room. In the outdoor portions of the game, there is still one and only one path to take.

You erased the part about burnout paradise.

 

I have never been a console guy, so I haven't played a lot on the xbox either. That game sounds cool though.

 

Currently, I am playing Castlevania with my brother. The graphics are very good for the most part and the game has some potential. It's like a less linear and less dark version of Dante's Inferno.

If you never played the original Halo I think they are making a remastered version which would be cool to go through. The first Halo was the only one of the series I ever liked.

If you like japano RPGs take a look at Lost Osyssey!!!

I liked all the Tomb Raider parts on X360 but I am a fan so...

If you like Simulation Racinggames, wait for Forza Motorsport 4.

If you have Kinekt try Child of Eden.

I liked Burnout Paradise too. (over 220 hours of playing time for me)

I just bought one with Halo 3 for $100. Works great! I'll have to add a hard drive later though so I can play all my old XBOX games like Breakdown. My original XBOX died a horrible disk-unreading death. It slowly kept throwing more errors about not being able to read the disk.
