State Shift in Earth's Biosphere

its likely there's a backup system where the earth comes up with a virus to kill all humans, as viruses have been around since the beginning they are probably a get out of jail free card. as in what happened to the dinosaurs, although that may have been the earth working with the sun and an asteroid.

although if the biosphere gets any bigger we're going to die anyway not enought food or water to sustain it.

Na, that's all just a lie. There is no climate change, just ask the friendly guys from FOX NEWS. ^_^

My favourite quote from the article:

Humans have already changed the biosphere substantially, so much so

that some argue for recognizing the time in which we live as a new

geologic epoch, the Anthropocene. Comparison of the present

extent of planetary change with that characterizing past global-scale

state shifts, and the enormous global forcings we continue to exert,

suggests that another global-scale state shift is highly plausible within

decades to centuries, if it has not already been initiated.

I could post so much more... But no point really knowing the facts if we are not willing to contemplate action. On other news regarding the summit, developing countries will refuse to commit untill the rich countries are ready to give up some of the unfair monopoly they have "conquered" on trade agreements and technology patents (which will forever doom them to continue as raw materials producing, indebbted nations), something they will obviously never do either. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2012/jun/06/rio-earth-summit-wwf Politicians are useless; its once again up to the worlds populations to push for fairness and social policy over the ineptitude of those in power...

It is funny however to see the subject going from environmental protection and heritage to carbon policy and energy savings - and the focus going to (individuals) consummerism alone, when we know very well that the overwhelming amount of environmental desctruction and resource hogging is caused by global industry.

Hey @nbohr1morehow come the zombies in The Dark Mod don't have a "resurrection" mechanic to it, similar to how Thief has it?
They're quite a weak creature as of right now, it's merely a walking corpse that slashes you, making attacking them to kill them an actual strategy.
Would be better if they had some cool mechanism to it that truly makes them a danger, such as the resurrection idea itself.

Query: when was the last time a zombie in a video game was unnerving or scary to you? I'm chipping away at my anniversary submission and I've been trying to gather opinions on the subject. I'm perfectly capable of lighting them well, changing their sfx, and creating effective ambience, but I'm worried that zombies at their core are just too overdone to be an effective payoff to the tension I'm creating.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.
