SVN model folder structure: proposed minor change

Currently the folder structure in DR is as follows -

- \models\darkmod\furniture\beds

- \models\darkmod\furniture\seating

- \models\darkmod\furniture\shelves

- \models\darkmod\furniture\tables

I would like to create -

- \models\darkmod\furniture\cabinates

And put my new version(with moving drawers) of 'cabinate01.low' in there along with all the other cabinates we have, as we are only going to get more of this model type created. @Spring if this is ok, did you want to convert the model from .ASE to .LWO?

We already have cabinets that aren't in a separate folder though, don't we? Won't that be confusing?

I see at least half a dozen cabinet models:

models/darkmod/furniture/cabinet1.lwo

models/darkmod/furniture/cabinet_set01.lwo

etc.

And that doesn't count dressers, which are quite similar. While it probably would have been a good idea at the outset, I don't think it makes any sense to create a new folder at this point, as it will just cause confusion.

Ok, when I add my new cabinet model, its going to add another 7 files (main model and all its drawers) to the root of the furniture folder. So that amount plus the existing amount of cabinet models will be getting close to the amount of models in the other furniture sub folders.

It has 7 different drawer models?? We really should try to use a set of standard sizes so we only need a few that can be reused.

I was going to suggest a separate drawer folder, but there are already 2 drawers in the main furniture folder, so I don't see any other option.

Just make sure to name them in a way that they're grouped all together.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )
