Revisiting Obstortte's blending script

A year ago, I was successful at including a few blended patches following the tutorials and instructions from Obs and Biker.

I'm trying to make a new one now, and failing.

I think I've got all the parts, and am following the same instructions, but when I export the blended model and import it, two things happen:

1 - The blend blocks are included as part of the model, visible in DR.

2 - In TDM, the entire patch is using the second texture, and there's no sign of the first. In DR, the model shows the entire patch painted with the first texture (which is expected).

Before I have to cobble together a test mission to demonstrate what I'm doing, I wondered if there were any changes beyond the state of the world when these instructions were made.

A year ago I was using DR 1.8.1. Now I'm using DR 2.02. Is it possible that 2.02 brought in an old version of the blend script?

I also notice that when the export blend dialogue box pops up, it's asking me to set the % of blending. That wasn't there a year ago. What do I do with that?

Is there a single place where all of the instructions, the correct script, and a correct tutorial video have been placed? (I.e. a wiki page) I couldn't find any.

Thanks.

Are you using this one:

?

As I recall it wasn't included in DR 2.02 but it will be in DR 2.03

(Yeah, shameless promotion... but traffic is traffic folks...)

@Biker: Are you using the script that got packaged with DR, or the version linked by nbohr1more?

DR 2+ accidentally packaged an older broken version of the script.

I've not tried it, I'm just reporting what I've read in other threads.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
