Every time I read that we can send a machine perfectly working @the edge of our home system.....I cry. A bit.....for our bit of promethean divinity !

Yes, we stole :P gods (Jupiter, really not intended :D ) fire.

Task is not so much to see what no one has yet seen but to think what nobody has yet thought about that which everybody see. - E.S.

I saw the article on this and my first reaction was like, ok, another day, another probe, another planet. But as I actually read the article I got more and more excited. The way it described this probe practically skimming over the very cloud tops (by space standards, only a 1000 km or so), and probing right into the murky depths sounded really cool. I'm so interested in some close up cloud photos and some idea of what's swirling in those depths, how deep the Red Spot might really go, what's really in the center...

We live in cool days, my friends. Never let the mediocrity of everyday life let you forget it.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Not to mention the harsh radiation environment that necessitates an elongated orbit so the orbiter can dip in for 14 hours, get out, transfer data for weeks, and do it over and over again for the relatively short 2-year life of the mission.

Or the rings riddled with micro-asteroids that would make mince meat of any probe that touched even a speck of it at the 100,000+ mph it's travelling at perijune.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
