Problems with mouse software language.

Hello everyone.

So I bought myself a new trackball mouse, the Elecom Huge M-HT1URBK. So far I am pretty happy with it, but I've run into an issue using the mouse software that comes with it.

Although the installer has selected english as standard installation language (and I have kept it like that) and the whole install process is performed in english, the software is using japanese language instead. The program itself does not allow a change of language. I've already contacted their support and although they are eager to help me, they are of no big help thus far, so I thought I may ask here.

Some information: I am using Windows 7 Professional 64bit, german version.

I've already tried setting the language for non-unicode programs to english. Installing additional language packs is not possible under Professional, at least not in an easy way, and I don't want to change my system language just to use a mouse program. I've also searched the regestry (searchword "elecom") and found one entry 'language', but that was set to english.

Maybe one of you folks have an idea what might cause the issue and how to probably solve it.

Thanks in advance.

  1. And if you just use the standard windows mouse configuration menu?
  2. Or use "elcom mouse assistant"?
  1. The mouse has eight buttons, and standard windows mouse config only supports up to five.
  2. That's what I am doing (that's the mouse software I am refering to in the op)

Maybe look for the Japanese resource files in where your software is installed and remove them/replace with english files.

There are only resource files (dll's in that case) for the other languages (english, chinese and korean). Japanese text seems to be part of the exe.

      Happy birthday to me!
Yes, today's my birthday and as much as I want to play The Dark Mod, I won't until it's late Autumn, where it should be a bit chilly in my place and there's some wind too.
For now, it's time to enjoy my birthday, if any of you want to play a great fan mission in my honour...Well that's asking too much, just play the mission because it's fun, not because of me, enjoy it yourself! 💪

Took a break from TDM until I got my backlog under control. It's been months and it's still not "under control". Damnit.

I sleep well at night knowing the player will never see the absolute nightmare that is my sealing brushwork outside the playable area. Only the pointfile can judge me now.

Somehow I admire the fact that the material from Dune has now been filmed for the third time. Personally, I could never do much with the material, but as a child of the 80s, I of course know the David Lynch movie...and that movie was at least funny!
