That is incorrect info. It's on this page where someone assumes Krita has dds support, but nobody can get it working:

Have you been able to open dds files in Krita? I have not.

I don't have a DDS file to test it, I only saw the description that it can. But later I also read, that it is still in beta with some problems and that it will work in future releases. They also mencioned what I said before, to use meanwhile a converter (they also mencioned Aconvert as solution).

(I don't know if you're faking an accent, but it's spelled "mentioned". Few English words are spelled "-cion".)

I am Spanish speaker, sorry, my fault. I know that in English and also in German -tion is used, spelled as -cion, in Spain we use -ción.
