I decided to finally get with the times and updated my PS5.5 to PS7. I've been having a bit of a problem though. The gamma when I have PS7 open is higher than everything else on my monitor, so that when I view images in other applications, they are much darker.

I had this problem with 5.5 at one point too, and fixed it by going into RGB colour management and clicking off the "Use Monitor Compensation" box (or something close to that; I forget the exact wording.

I can't find any such option in PS7 though. Anyone know where I would find that option, or something like it?

Unlike 5.5 there is no colour calibration wizard in photoshop 7.

Setup is achieved with a combination of Adobe Gamma (found not in photoshop, but in your PC's control panel) and the color settings dialogue available from photoshop's Edit menu.

alternatively install linux and the Gimp. :)

That's ok, this option wasn't in the wizard anyway. It was under the RGB colour calibration menu.

The problem is that PS seems to want to make the gamma higher on everything. In PS5.5, telling it not to compensate for the monitor worked. But I can't find the similar option in PS7. Seeing as I don't know what PS7 is doing to make everything brighter, I don't really know how to make things look the way they are supposed to. But I can pull the same image up in both PS5.5 and 7, and side by side you can see 7 is much brighter.

Well I've run that before to calibrate my monitor and PS5.5, but I don't want to change the way my monitor looks, or any other application for that matter. PS7 seems to be using a different series of settings from everything else, and I'm not sure where they're coming from.

Yeah, I'm not sure. Maybe see if the Help file says anything about Gamma adjustments, if you haven't already? C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop\Help. Does PS7 come with Adobe ImageReady? Maybe the gama settings are only in that portion of things.

I remember that feature being in PS5, but I'm not seeing it in CS either.

You need to run Adobe Gamma again Spars (I think anyway, I use gimp)

Photoshop talks to Adobe Gamma behind your back...

Once you've done that click on photoshop's Edit menu and select Colour Settings. Its all in there....

Things have been so bad these days for me...
Just a year ago, I've been feeling dizzy, I thought it was nothing, today's stress, that type of thing, went to sleep...Still dizzy! 9 more days dizzy, went to doctor (I would have gone on the first day if NOT for the long appointment time)
Said it may be Neck Dizziness...I did exercises for 6 months, no changes.
Went to a Physical Therapist, went to another, no changes.
I've asked my doctor for a full check this time.
I hated yesteryear so much due to personal reasons, this year might be the same.
To be brutally honest, I'd rather have cancer or/and chronic pain than suffer dizziness any second longer, especially when nothing helps.
Hard to enjoy Thief when you're dizzy so I was hoping this year, Winter will be best for me.

      Hello mappers and taffers!

Are you still out there? It is so calm here these days and I am afraid this is no good sign.
Proof me wrong, tell your best friend (=me), that you are still here and that you will not go away!

Happy Labour Day, my taffing taffers & hard working mapping friends!
And remember the poor souls who, within the Inventors’ organization, labor under Jonus’s yoke to ensure the success of that very guild! Always remember the hard workers!

Is there a script command to make a screenshot?
I just though it could be interesting to be able to create a screenshot at a certain point in time. Then use that screenshot possibly in a debrief.
I guess the second question is: Can you use a (in-game made) screenshot in a (debrief) gui?
