Pagan Female

Work has started on the pagan female:

I added some clothing (no underwear so some players may get a surprise after a KO ;) ) & oDD had a skin with tatoos. Her shoulders need to be fixed since they look goofy at the moment & she has no toes or toenails :huh: The tricky part will be the weighting on the clothing so her breasts won't clip out of them . . . which may not be a bad thing :laugh:

oDDity does have a pagan with a long dress. But I don't think she's the warrior type.

 

Odd called it a pagan but it isn't really. That model will just be our default townswoman/maid model--we should probably rename it at some point to avoid confusion.

 

As for this model, the tattoo version (with clothing) should probably be the default skin, though it's handy to have the other available too. Our pagans are supposed to be vaguely inspired by eary celtic tribes, but they range from the savage to the relatively sophisticated, so there's lots of room for variety.

Good progress!

 

It looks like the normals on the dress may have been screwed up... maybe try resetting them if it happens again (with the Modelling menu set, Edit Polygons -> Normals -> Set to face (yes I use Maya a bit :) )).

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

I like the idea of vine twisting around the cloths :). I'd add some shreded edges and maybe some shadowing under the vine (on diffuse map), so it doesn't look like painted on the cloth but has some thickness.

Good progress!

I probably tried something or other with normals but the 'set to face' turned off the smoothing permanently for the mesh for one attempt I made a while back.

I'll keep that in mind & thanks for the feedback :) That texture will probably be in progress for a while, but our second female is ingame :wub:

 

She's on svn now. There's some rigging issues & the skin applied to the main body doesn't apply to the head:

So she always has a tattooed head (oops, I misspelled tattoo in the skin decl :o ). Is there a way to include the skin for a def_head?

 

EDIT: For some reason her breasts became lopsided when I was rigging her :blink:

EDIT2: Her head's too big . . .

I like the dress, but the skin looks kind of weird. It's rather bland and plasticky, and I think there is something screwy going on with the mesh normals (unless it's just the lighting highlighting the mesh geometry).

The dress is interesting...it has a nice normal and might look half-decent as fur as well. The skin colour definitely needs to be warmed up a bit...it's almost grey. It's been like that all along, however.

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
