I've noticed that some skin entries are incorrect.

There are entries like the following:

skin decorative/vase/blue_china

{

model models/darkmod/props/decorative/vase1.lwo

model models/darkmod/props/decorative/bc_largepot.ASE

model models/darkmod/props/decorative/bc_mediumpot.ASE

model models/darkmod/props/decorative/bc_smallpot.ASE

model models/darkmod/props/decorative/bc_urn01.ASE

model models/darkmod/props/decorative/bc_urn01_lid.ASE

model models/darkmod/props/decorative/bc_urn01_open.ASE

model models/darkmod/props/junk/flinders/ceramicflind01.ASE

model models/darkmod/props/junk/flinders/ceramicflind02.ASE

model models/darkmod/props/junk/flinders/ceramicflind03.ASE

model models/darkmod/props/junk/flinders/ceramicflind04.ASE

vase1 vase2

}

This will only work if all the models have a surface named "vase1" (which I don't think most in that list do). Just adding the model name to the list isn't enough, you also have to include the name of the original material and the name of the material to change it to. "vase1" becomes "vase2" in this case.

You can have materials for many models listed, however. So beneath vase1 vase2 you need to add lines like this:

bc_urn_material vase2

ceramicfline01_material vase2

etc.

The bc_*pot models indeed have the vase1 referenced, at least the two I just checked, so I guess that's fine.

But the uppercase .ASE will not work with our current SVN models, as they are all lowercase now. Is this skin file synced up to the latest revision? If yes, I'll have to replace the ASE with ase.

In the future, please make sure that all filenames are lowercase (they could be uppercase as well, but for consistency). Reason is, if they have mixed case, it will create problems on the linux port, if the case is not the same everywhere. So this especially includes references to files.

Oh, they do have vase1? My mistake. It didn't look like they did from the screenshots, but I didn't actually open them up to check. The uppercase is probably already fixed...I haven't synced in a few days.

Carry on, nothing to see here.... :blush:

      Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

      I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

      briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
      What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
      I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

      Trying to be productive on my down-time before Capcom releases Akuma and my son is constantly on my PC playing Street Fighter...

      Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

      The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.
