I didn't care about the PC police. Those were really just the first words that came to me.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Despite a lot of people grumbling about these PC Police I've never seen them about.

What do they look like? Asexual endangered pandas on bicycles I'd expect.

Quick google search turned this up:

What happen to the verbose speech I saw this morning?

Merry Christmas everyone. Live up the vicarious joy those w/ children can feel when they see their faces light-up the house :)

I thought it was too long and a bit much for a simple thread ... who cares about the meaning of the Winter Solstice? haha.

Actually, I changed my mind and wanted to put it back as soon as I 86'd it, but then it was gone. So much for acting on a whim for no good reason.

I guess the PC police don't allow us to call it "Christmas" these days.

I got the following email from a lawyer friend and had to post it here.

If you thought my greeting was too PC...

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, our best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasions or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make the world a great place (not to imply that any country is necessarily greater than any other

country) and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical

ability, religious faith, or sexual preference of the wishee.

By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion

of the wisher.

Best regards,

I received that too.

So, uh, yeah. @Everyone: What that quote said. ----^

My games | Public Service Announcement: TDM is not set in the Thief universe. The city in which it takes place is not the City from Thief. The player character is not called Garrett. Any person who contradicts these facts will be subjected to disapproving stares.

Oh my god, that is hilarious. I always thought us germans were a strict people, always sticking to bureaucracy and stuff, but what you quoted is a totally different chapter... :D But then again, NCY is the melting pot, mixing a lot of different cultures, while in germany is also happening some culture mixing but not as much by far.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
