Capela's BM repository Window textures

I think it is due to Capela being vanished during the past few months. He volunteered to get them ready for submission, IIRC, which never happened.

That's the thread: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?showtopic=6411

I think this task can be reassigned then - any volunteers?

If you have the PSDs of these I can play with them and re-release. Some look very cheap.

We only have the things posted in that thread and/or the ones in the betamapper SVN repository. One could try to contact Capela though, it isn't definite whether he actually left for good.

Do you spot any good ones in there too? We could put those on SVN only, and spare the ones which are of minor quality.

I liked windows:

01

03

04

05

07

08

09

10

11

04 and 05 are very similar though.

I can't find the one your referencing in the BM repository though shotgun.

Hah. Well I can create one like it myself, if needed. I think the glass effect on all the other textures ain't good.

Butofcourse! The betamapperrepositoryonmylocalmachine oh yes absolutely, every morning.

/Quickly fumbles with this SVN client ugh wretched command line programs

Good to know there is an SVN client, no wonder I couldn't figure out where was the upload button. Now, how the hell do I make this work? Where is my big juicy windows GUI huh? Damn coders.

The second one is alright, if we have a clean TGA I can still touch it up and have it workable.

Hmm, that window texture looks *barely* good enough to use. It would definitely need some work.

You're running TortoiseSVN, aren't you? This comes with a number of context menu items and gives you lots of dialog windows. I'm not sure whether you actually need assistance with setting up SVN or not, so let me know if I can be of any help.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Trying to be productive on my down-time before Capcom releases Akuma and my son is constantly on my PC playing Street Fighter...

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.
