Lots of problems with running TDM. Help Please?

I used the installer to install the dark mod on my laptop. After I had installed it, and I tried to open it, it said that it could not extract gamex86.dll from tdm_game01.pk4. I did this manually using winrar and tried to open it again. This time it opened fine, but in the missions section it says that no missions are installed> When I click where the missions should be, the missions completion status changes from 'not completable' to 'not yet'. When I click the install mission button, it says that the missions has been installed and the game restarts, however there is still no playable missions there after this has happened. What do I need to do to rectify this?

Did you install with tdm_update.exe or from a torrent?

 

Also, is EAX on? Turn it off if so.

 

And make sure you have write access to your folder.

installed with tdm_update.exe. How do I turn Eax on?

He meant you want to try the game with EAX turned OFF.

In the game, go to Settings->Audio->EAX 4.0 HD, and make sure it's set to Off.

Also at the bottom of the game screen, below the Quit option, does it say TDM 2.0 or TDM 2.01?

eax is off and it is tdm 2.01

Okay, let's try something. Cut and Paste your DarkMod folder into the root directory so it should be C:\DarkMod

You would probably have to run thedarkmod.exe as Administrator, otherwise it might not be able to write to that folder.

Your computer User account when you log into Windows, is that an Administrator account or Standard account?

Because of the space on the root folder i bet, idtech 4 don't like that. It is also advised not to put tdm on a folder with a space on the name if you intend to make missions.
