  1. outcast second contact is temporary free downloadable for some hours on humble bundle. I love that game ambience!

  2. While we wait for a 64bit updater, people can install, as a work around, some 32bit environment packages to run 32bit updater (and the 64 tdm gamebinary) on their 64 bit system. For them i added a small instructions to the wiki-article: == ubuntu 64 bit: sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386; sudo apt-get install libc6:i386 libncurses5:i386 libstdc++6:i386; opensuse 64bit: zypper install patterns-openSUSE-x86 ==
  3. Is this a video driver and tdm advanced video settings problem?
  4. Yes, how about that permission: chmod u+x thedarkmod.x64 and there is a manual you can follow: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Installer_and_Manual_Installation#Installing_TDM_on_Linux_64_bit.2C_manually and is possible you need to install some other packages.
  5. Because people want to play TDM using the latest (unstable) features. And to get this can you use nightlies. Or it should be so very easy to compile tdm, so everybodies grandma can compiles it.
  6. And those are the "stable" ones. It would be nice to have nightly binaries. Or a grandma-friendly way to compile TDM from source/svn.
  7. :s Have you visited TDM downloadpage? http://www.thedarkmod.com/downloads/ Maybe the updater downloaded files from a slow/not-working downloadmirror. Comment out the slow mirror in tdmmirror file and start the updater again.
  8. I dont know what the differences are in those update packages. But that is how the updater works. (see update logs) And here is a instruction i wrote how to install tdm to a specified version manually. http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19683-mac-problems-launching-tdm/?do=findComment&comment=428698
  9. No, there isnt a full offline 2.05 package. (that i know of) You have to install 2.05 by installing 2.00 and update mannually to 2.05. Here is a small howto but you must not use the commands (or you have to change the commandlines to the location to the tdm folder in the.app.) http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19683-mac-problems-launching-tdm/?do=findComment&comment=428698
  10. But 2.05 still works on the wineskin package Look inside the content of the app (right click > show package content) Put the standalone version and manual upgrade to 2.05 using the update files on moddb.
  11. Thats the wineskin package you use. That package uses wine. If you ran the updater and updated that package to 2.06, you know that 2.06 doesnt work yet under wine, yet.
  12. Beam over > Transport. If people say the some locations slows their system down, you can pinpoint it using those commands. Using the automation feature, for benchmarking, test settings, debugging, etc.
  13. And upgrade to version 2.05.
  14. Is it possible to "beam over" the player to a specified location? So we can debug a bug in training mission. http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19721-training-mission-bug/
  15. I have seen it using those packages, in progress window of the windows updater. Cant remember it for the linux updater. (because i use that updater sometimes) To me, a quick install should be that the updater download everything (except the incrementals) But for mappers/tech/devs its nice to go to a chosen version.
  16. Its not odd, because thats the way how the TDM-updater works. Nice to know that TDM runs on your system. And alt-tabbing in a linux distro is a known problem.
  17. Thanks for the instruction. I (and others) will test en verify this method. How about storing the gamefolder to the application support folder and not "directly" in users homefolder? Because thats the standard procedure for applications files. And its hardcored in the app-file. So Lets test it and store the gamefolder to "~/Library/Application Support/darkmod". And place the tdm-app in the users applications folder and add a symlink to the darkmod folder. And does 2.06 run?
  18. A small workaround is to downloading the update packages mannually. Get them from moddb. See http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19683-mac-problems-launching-tdm/?do=findComment&comment=428698
  19. Could you tell us exactly how you installed and getting TDM to run? You used method 1 and what did you do next exactly? Maybe you can create a symbolic link to the folder? ln -s ~/Library/Application Support/darkmod/fms ~/tdminstall/fms (or shoud the darkmod folder moved to the application support folder)
  20. I want to create a script, that the user runs on their system and speaks to it and to TDM. Is this feature for the published 2.06 or higher? Is there any documentation about this automation feature? Cant find anything on the wiki. And is there a mini portable package of python? Like one single binary executable, that runs a python script?
  21. Its a nice start of a new feature for TDM. Can I use this for debugging problems in TDM on the system of the user?
  22. To me, this new logo is a very nice logo for the Community. And keep the old watch and title, the logo for the game.
  23. I love the 3d feature of Google Maps. If the city is supported you get a 3d version of the builinds, instead of 2d.

    1. Bienie

      Bienie

You should see it in VR! O.O

I have the Wander app which allows you to travel around the world in VR using Google street view. Can't get over how much I've enjoyed it.

For example: open google maps and go to london. click on "satelite" (left down corner) then 3d right downcorner). Zoom in use mouse scroll and pan with ctrl-keyboard button.

  24. That hexen tc for doom 3 is https://www.moddb.com/mods/hexen-edge-of-chaos And do you mean amid evil, rpgista? If you want to play mods, visit moddb for those games. https://www.moddb.com/games/hexen https://www.moddb.com/games/hexen-ii
  25. I can confirm the 2.06 black screen (with sound) on playonmac (playonmac 42.2.0, Wine 3.18, default wine video settings, vcrun2013) And in that container, 2.05 works fine. Given sollutions in this topic, gives my the same bad results. Do we need install something else beside vcrun2013?
