  1. Nice to hear that you succeeded to install TDM. But please create an other topic, to discuss other things besides the updater.
  2. Yes, change the priority of the mirrors. Otherwise look at Installation page of the wiki for other methods. But only restarting the updater didnt work? (you dont have to delete the already downloaded files, because the updater checks for this). at this moment freezing up during a download, is a "standard feature" of the updater, for a long time now. so, my question to the developer of the updater: @updater-dev: do the updater checks the speed of the download-dataflow of a current file? the updater shows the speed of the file, but does he react also on it?

I did this by renaming the original file in the pk4 (that just a zip file is),creating outside the pk4 (like in the fm\mymission folder), the same folder-structure that tdm usesand change the file outside the pk4.For your example: Go inside tdm_base01.pk4, copy the file tdm_version.txt to darkmod\fm\wesp5mission\tdm_version.txt and change to content of the file in your fm folder. Or Go inside tdm_base01.pk4 and copy the file tdm_version.txt to darkmod\fm\wesp5mission\tdm_version.txt, rename the file in tdm_base01.pk4 and change to content of the file in your fm folder.
  5. Thank you for the Textures. As a person with limited experience in several branches, in a group with some contributors and with minimal time to enjoy this hobby project, I have collect already-made things and change/combine for this experiment. To me its will not be a asset-junkyard,but someone's trash is someone's else carefully picked and combined treasure. I have chosen for the tdm-engine, not of this graphics but for its funcationality, opensource code, compatible on several os'ses, its community, etc. For now to speed up this experiment. i need a mapper who are willing to work on excisting maps and adding TDM (and other d3-mods) assets to it. This to start small and to give it a future view, for the others who want to help. My WIP can be downloaded from here.

  7. I never worked with the readable editor in dr. But if you create a gui and put the textlines in there, you can select per line whitch font you want to use. And there is somewhere on the net a font converter for Doom 3, to find.. It can also convert your comic-sans font. @teh_saccade, please stop using posting in another font, than the standard font. And It doesnt read good on portable devices.

  9. The wolfenstein youtuberecording was just for showing example for live background in idtech 4. (And for others and me, to look for code how they made this). I would love to see a livebackground in TDM FM. So please create just a simple room and put an camerascript in it. And for the redesign menu subject, i dont want to redesign the whole menu. Only want to have livebackground option for a fm. And a option to replacing objects.
  10. Yes, i'm still working on this project. (some hours per week) But for me, it feels like a one-man-project. Because people are contributing, but they dont post their working-in-progress regularly in this topic. Well, you can start to combine assets from scifi D3 mods, such like Blade Yautja and Prometheus d3 (and other mods from bladeghost). For this experiment you dont have to reconstruct or create a map from scratch (because this takes to much time), only placing some guards and assets in excisting d3 maps, like skycraper. (posted some screenshots earlier)

  12. I havent seen any version performance benchmarks on the net. Or you have do the measurements yourself.
  13. newer version include also system resource bugfixes. (Compared with 2.0 on moddb) (See the changelog: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Category:What%27s_New ) Just stick with the latest stable version. try to change the settings and set performance tweaks: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Performance_Tweaks (Or upgrade the system) Because it is not easy to find \ download an old standalone and seperate updates. And these are bugs and it is possible that some of the latest fms dont run on an old version.

  16. We got also rats, steambot spiders, wherebeasts, etc. Check the spawn consolecommand and darkradiant to see them. Spaen atdm:ai
  17. Status 2016-04-16: Merged health and energybar with lightgem Replaced the credits label and value. Hud windows are now transparant.
  18. I dont have a clue, so i have questions. On which mission, or on multiple missions. On which os (Windows, linux, mac). For starters you can run the updater to get the latest files. And set permissions on your TDM folder.
  19. How about some old idtech4 games, for inspiration. Like: prey 2006, wolfenstein, quake 4. -edit- edited post. I hate the dutch autocorrections.
  20. The patch can be also downloaded from moddb. How about using the TDM-engine for it? Are there any people to help us with our cyberpunk fm? I am still working on it.

  22. Found today a new collection of maps that runs on TDM instantly, Skycraper for Doom 3. Only we to find a mapper, who would like to help us and to give a look at it.
