Just looking at this now, jesus its mad. The same two server/nodes in the US keep getting hammered by massivs ddos attacks. And ssh is by the the most common attached protocal, its why I disconnected my synology box from the web.

Why do they do this?

Who knows... to make people aware, to be assholes, I'm sure they have a proposed purpose which makes utterly no sense. Didn't you go to school with some people that were assholes just to be assholes? There are good things to draw from it, similar to virus/malware. It progresses the state of the art. It could just be that, the "yang" of nature, forcing the progression of learning.
