    Episode Iii

I'm really not a Star Wars fan, but I do like lightsaber fights and there were plenty in this one. The acting did suck though. I thought the part where Anakin pulled his lightsaber out on the little ones was pretty funny!
  2. Demigod

    Episode Iii

Well I just saw it an I think its a 3 to 4 out of 5, arguably as good as Jedi. It has some very good parts but it is brought down by terrible dialogue and acting, for example the Emperor could have been in a pantomime for some of it, very bad makeup effects again on the emperor for the office scene. The robot general was bad, ok in the book set before the film he is meant to have a bigger part but he just wasn’t very good. Some of it doesn’t track to the next films, how could leia know here mother at all? (jedi reference) But as a turn brain off sit back and expand my waistline on bad popcorn movie I really enjoyed it. But how did it get a 13 rating with the Jedi temple and Anikin impersonating a torch? Ewan was the best human actor in it he did Alec G very well imho. But I think yoda was the best actor in it
  3. Definitely kickass. We should get these up in the screenshot section of the website for people that are too lazy to browse the forums.

Ok, you didn't like it, but don't try to shoehorn your bitter opinions on everyone else. It's a Star Wars film, for God's sake. They're all shit, but entertaining shit. If you were expecting Hamlet, look elsewhere.

    Episode Iii

I frequent two other forums beside this one, Politics Forum and Maes-E, and pretty much everyone on both of those loved it. Maybe there's something about this project that attracts the hypercritical.
  6. It really was quite horrible. It doesn't matter if it's a Star Wars movie or not. This is 2005 damnit....raise the bar. It really isn't and issue of whether or not the movie is aimed at a younger audience either, I've seen kids movies that walked all over Sith with intelligence and great performances. At least with "Empire" they proved that it could actually have some class and intelligence.
  7. Napalm

    Episode Iii

Lol Macsen. Actually I didn't hate it either. Quality wise it was pretty horrible, and if your not a star wars fan it wouldn''t be any good, but hey, if you arn,t a star wars fan none of them are that great. Lucas has never been an amazing writer, go back and read lukes ep 4 lines. As a star wars fan I think it wasn't the story that i was really into, more of the places and exxplanation of what had happened before. I loved seeing chewie on the battle of kashyk, the old school x-wings and tie, all of that was nice.
  8. Hmm, oh well. I guess we just have two different viewpoints on it. I personally enjoyed seeing tangible evidence of why Anikken (sp?) is so special. Having him just be a normal 8-year old boy wouldn't do much to convince me that he should some day become Darth Vader. Palpatine would have no reason to take him under his wing if he wasn't so gifted. You *do* understand Jedi are different from the rest of the normal schmuck's out there in the universe, right? If Ani was too young, then don't you think Yoda's too old to be a powerful Jedi doing the stuff he's doing? You must not buy into the Yoda thing either... You either buy into the whole Jedi thing and accept they can be quite gifted, even at early ages, or you don't. This can be similar to your magic arguments for Thief: you either buy into and appreciate the magic & physics thereof, or you don't. If you don't, fireballs eminating from someone's fingertips can look just as rediculous as a very gifted 8-year old boy winning a Pod Race.

    Episode Iii

If you judged Episode III by the standards of regular films it would seem appalling, but as it is its more Star Wars than the series has ever managed before. The acting is rubbish, its has ridicilousness frothing out of every pore in its flimsy body, but that is what is great about it. It's like watching crap Monkey! episodes at one in the morning with your mates. You don't expect anything from it and laugh at how charmingly awful it all is.
  10. Special is one thing. Being allowed to enter a race where half of the (adult) contestants die is just stupid. An eight-year old destroying a capital ship is stupid. A high-ranking jedi sitting back and totally relying on a grade 3 student to get them out of their problems is stupid. And giving blindfolded five-year olds a light sabre and standing them all next to each other is stupid beyong comprehension. One slight slip and the kid in front of you is cut in half.
  11. Heh. Well, the visuals and the story, as a whole. I was also closer to the screen the 2nd time and the volume was louder -- so I was more wrapped up in the experience of it all. I agree that the SFX were quite lacking throughout, especially light saber sequences. I wonder if they got a new SFX guy, or something. It's a shame Lucas doesn't let go of some of his control on Star Wars writing, etc. LOL - I heard Spielberg and whoever else had a finalized script or something for a new installment of Indiana Jones, but Lucas (not sure how or why he's involved) thought it needed more work, so back to the drawing boards. If Lucas ruins that script, good grief...

    Episode Iii

ROFL, so if you dind't focus on the pathetic dialogue or acting, what did you focus on? THe SFX? I didn't veen think they were that impressive either. Some of the chatacter animation was poor quality as well - enough for me to notice it. I'd love to have seem what Spielberg would have made of these lastest three movies if he'd been given creative control as well as directing, but Lucas is just to much of a control freak when it comes to his ickle baby Star Wars.
  13. I kinda liked this in that we learn Darth Vader was particularly special from a very early age. I also kinda liked this. Similar to the above, it makes us understand just how unique Jedi are from the rest of the galaxy/universe. Yeah, I didn't really care for this. I've seen Ep:III twice now. I appreciated it more the second time around and didn't focus so much on the poor dialogue/acting this 2nd time.
  14. since I can't start on the wardrobe right now I'll do it. but I think you should make the frame of the windows thicker - here's a photo of a gothic window. you see the difference ? maybe it'll help you - here's a high-res texture of a gothic window I did last year:
  15. Just saw it last night in a friend's theatre (he downloads them, so thankfully, no $9 of mine went toward it) and it was possibly the worst piece of shit I've ever seen. I am not one of those people that usually calls people down on acting, and am probably too forgiving (or even naive) in that area - but in EpIII, it simply cannot be missed or ignored. And did anyone count the number of pointless, go-nowhere, serve-no-purpose scenes? Lucas is nothing more than a completely untalented hack that got lucky and somehow came up with a mere thread of a story that some otherwise bored(?) people became interested in - then he sold it out and was forced to expand on it (unbelievably poorly) so it would support him for life. And he succeeded. Figure that one out. To quote the theatre owner, "I can't say enough bad things about that." Think of how cool SW could have been, if the writer/director had any talent at all, and wasn't so concerned with selling it to children. What a waste of time - I could have been watching the new Jet Li.
  16. I see what you're saying. Though, I still have no problem with it, I see where many would. But, I think creaky boards could still be put in without being too random and frustrating. It would be no fun to go at a snails pace through a map to avoid making noise that may or may not happen. This is where I said last time in different words, "So just go faster, chance the noise. If you make some and get spotted, run and enjoy the chase. Enjoy the challenge of rethinking your plans whilst escaping the ruins of your last one alive. I would. Of course, having to do this 20 times in one mission would completely SUCK, which is why I'm liking my latest thinking more. But, I'm not everyone, so here's the idea, plus lots of examples. It would be up to the mapper to "ease the tension" and let one freely move through the map without worry of thousands of random factors messing up your game. In Doom(especially 3), all rooms were to be treated as if monsters could spawn in anywhere. It was commonplace, and you didn't have to move at a snails pace expecting monsters to come at you from nowhere, because the game was designed to go with the hordes of monsters. Thief, however, was not designed around hordes of monsters. You could be rest assured that swarms of guards would not spawn in behind you. However, mappers COULD do this. But they usually don't, so no one creeps from room to room expecting to be overrun by monsters. (Except for me and probably others, in The Cradle in Thief III) If the mapper has a special situation, however, where a monster DOES get teleported in, such as looting the pirate ship in T2, its their responsibilty to make sure it is done well. While I wasn't expecting things to teleport in at me, I was expecting SOMETHING to happen. Gave me a little escape scene. In a similar sense, mappers shouldn't place creaky floors in a very well made room where the entire floor but one board is silent. This sort of thing can happen in real life, but this is the situation I think would really annoy people. The entire floor of an rickety, abandoned looking house may not be creaky, but you can expect a few boards to creak due to the shoddy nature of the house. You can also expect a sturdy, non-creaking floor in a well maintained home, and these are the places were creaky floors do not belong unless there IS some manner of nearby visual clue or auditory clue, such guard walking across it. In the same way, You can also expect guards to come running, traps to be sprung, and all manner of bad, currently undetectable things to happen when you take the large gem off of the pedestal in the middle of the room in the large, opulent mansion. You wouldn't, however, expect a whole lot to happen if you open the box in some peasants basement. Creaky floors shouldn't have to be something to constantly worry about on every wooden floor. With some common sense and good mapmaking, you should usually be able to see a creaky floor in the same way you can see an ambush or a trap. I'd love to see the rare occasion where a very well hidden creak can throw me out of my strategy, but they should be far more rare. As I said above, having to escape and come up with a new strategy 20 times in one map will get old fast.
  17. ...and seven months later he's actually in the game. I haven't been doing any CG work for the last two weeks (I get totally bored with it sometimes) but I'm finshing of the Builders now.

    Episode Iii

 Malevolent humour is the last resort of the ignorant, I say. Then why go see it? Just because of the hype?
  19. Surprisingly, the reviews I've read have placed it above the last two movies...somewhere in the league of "The Empire Strikes Back". I don't know about that however, it would have to be pretty damn good to equal Empire. I'm not even a Star Wars fan but I had hoped the last two movies would have been far better than they were. I really didn't like "A New Hope" and "Jedi" anyway...my image of what Star Wars should be is "Empire".

No tags? you could type SPOILARRRRRRRR and then type it up. I can't say I'm going go out of my way to see this POS. If it somehow accidently lands on my pc via some freak occurance of binary magic at some stage, I may give it the once over. But I haven't been particularly fussed on the series since I saw Phantom Menace some years ago. I was even less gratified when I had the misfortune of accidently stumbling onto teh cloney clones. What with the tacky ass love story, and tepid cgi. Seems to me that McLucas got all murdery on the Star Wars fan in me.

I liked it, much better than Phantom and Jedi. (you can not read my review here)

    Episode Iii

Lucas has really lost it. This is definitely the worst Star Wars, even worse than Episode I. THe dialogue is so bad I got embarrassed for the actors every time they spoke, and the guy playing Anakin can't even act, whch made it worse. The motivation for him turning to the dark side was pathetic. It's possibly he worst written character in literary history. It seemed like a plot thrown together in a pathetic attempt to tie up the loose ends leading you to A New Hope, and was toally convoluted and forced as a result. I'm not a 'the new Star Wars movies suck' guy either, Attack of the Clones was probably my favourite Star Wars. I can't go into details about how shit it was because there are no spoiler tags on this forum, so I'll have to make do with 'It sucks'
  23. hehe...fair enough! Maybe we should start international forums..... or not
