Numberwheel: How can I remove scripting rounding errors?

I've got the number wheel combination lock working in-game and retrieving and processing the values in script except I'm getting rounding errors. Is it possible in Doom3 scripting to round up a float to a whole number to compare it with the combination numbers? Otherwise I guess I could compare with eg, > 7.9 AND < 8.1 which is a bit messy.

OK, forget it. Within minutes of posting I found the answer of course. blush.gif Although there is no int type there is an int function to round to a whole number num1 = int((num1 + 0.5)); [edited]

yeah I was going to suggest this when i read the thread name. I think I remember this being known as static casting from my computer science student days.

well theres 10 numbers on a wheel, and 360 degree's in a circle, so you press the up button turns wheel 36 degrees one way, and down button turns wheel 36 degrees other way, add or minus number to a varible to wheel one, where value goes no higher than 9 or less than 0, then you do that four times, and you then check when each wheel is in correct position you unlock something.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
