Any plans for adding different sized human AI?

... such as children and people of smaller/larger stature (dwarf or giant)? When I say dwarf and giant, I'm not talking about Tolkien-style bearded Dwarves or big huge Trolls.... just regular humans of smaller or larger stature. Hopefully no need for re-scaled weapons... the dwarf or child could use a dagger or short sword and the giant could (maybe) use a halberd or war hammer (if they are implemented for melee use).

Obviously, a larger human AI would likely have to duck through doorways and be restricted from going through small spaces. Any plans for having AI crawl on hands and knees?

I had tried to force smaller and larger scaled AI by adjusting the rotate values, with disastrous results. The AI I tried making smaller stayed normal size, but his head disappeared. The one I tried making larger also stayed normal size, but with a gigantic head floating in the air above him. The head was the only thing that scaled, but it's joint position was offset so it didn't connect at the neck anymore.

Not likely.

Children with limited animations are a possibility, but it's a tremendous amount of work creating AI of non-standard size.

Gosh it's almost like reading the development notes for Dwarf Fortress... =-P

"No proposition Euclid wrote,

No formulae the text-books know,

Will turn the bullet from your coat,

Or ward the tulwar's downward blow

Strike hard who cares—shoot straight who can—

The odds are on the cheaper man."

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.
