During compiling AAS "warning: no entities insiude

Working on a map with SirTaf and Im getting a comAAS error that I havent see before - "during compiling AAS "warning: no entities insiude" - WTF does that mean..?

Im not entirly sure, but I think there was either a corrupt patch (which I cant see how...), or the map hit a patch amount limit (again on such a small map I cant see how...), but after spending 4hrs narrowing down which patches were causing the dmap freeze/lockup, I made FS out of the problematic patche.

After each dmap/map I get the in-game error that says AAS is out of despite deleting the .aas file after each compile etc... arrgghh..

That error message means all of your AI are standing outside the AAS areas, so no AAS file gets written.

Look for AI that are standing either inside of, or w/in 16 units of walls, clip brushes, or monsterclip brushes.

At least one AI has to be standing farther away than 16 from these things for an AAS file to be written.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I have had this error in the candles map for a long time, and could never figure it out. That should be on the wiki or in some mapper's FAQ somewhere...

Thank you!

There's a set of dummy entities you can drop in the map as well that forces AAS calculations for that area. I can't recall the name.

AI/AAS_flood/aas32_flood

There's one for each AAS type.

These are most typically used in areas that can only be reached by elevator, and which have no AI in them at map start.

I found the cause, the author of the mission had put a rat in a cage no bigger than the rat... I then put MC around said cage.... removed mc, problem solved (bar the rat like to run on the spot occasionaly)

Isn't that animal cruelty? Pamela Anderson's gonna throw red paint on you guys.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.
