Mentioned it in the zombie thread, but I can't be the only one who wants to see a level where I have to sneak past a blind old hermit with hyper-sensitive hearing to grab an optional objective.

 

Seriously, drop some hints that he may not be great at seeing by having some guards in the area joke about him, have some braille on some walls in his house, that sort of bit. You could even use an alternate set of animations to show he's counting his steps.

Have him auto-detect you based on smell via proximity.

 

An eccentric request, but one I'd love to see done right, as the closets I've seen to this is Hitman Absolution's level where they didn't actually state the suit-maker was blind, merely implying it.

 

It's a terrific part in an otherwise bland game, wasted on a level that could've been a cutscene.

 

How nobody has done this before is beyond me.

As I already wrote in the zombie quest, all the zombies in the original Half-Life were blind, so this has like been done a million times in all the additional maps ;)!

I meant in a stealth game, though, where focus on the sight and sound of enemies isn't just noticeable, but integral.

I like to record difficult stealth games, and right now you wonderful people are the only ones delivering on that front.

      The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

      Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

      i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
      tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
