Quick Crap Zombie Sketch

You' should give him 2 arms so that he can smack you around a bit easier, beyond that it looks good. :)

I also have a few ideas for some neat zombie/supernatural concepts I'd like to present to see what everyone thinks. Some of them are fairly wild, and I dunno how well they'd fit in with the theme since they're just rough ideas, but it's been something I've been meaning to discuss for awhile now. Up til this point we've woefully neglected the undead.

Of course we'll have several different types. Probably the reason we've done so little is that zombies are already in the game. We'll want to modify the textures, of course, but I don't see why we can't use the models that are already there (perhaps adding a few of our own for later releases).

Well the only problem I have is that those ones aren't exactly the same type as there were in the thief games. They wear baggy pants and jackets. Frankly the desicion in that area will be up to you and sparhawk, so i won't fret if we use the in-game models.

As I remember, there are a couple different zombies that have on only pants and nothing else. If we retextured them differently, they would be useable as is. I agree that we should make a couple of our own, but we don't need to reinvent the wheel until later.

I don't have much to say in the Art section. And that is probably better for the mod. :)

I can only say if I like it or not, just like everybody else, but for aesthetic Springheel is the final authority.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Trying to be productive on my down-time before Capcom releases Akuma and my son is constantly on my PC playing Street Fighter...

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.
