You could do the same with ModWiki, which has more technical information on idtech4.

    2. Petike the Taffer

      Petike the Taffer

That's cool, but I myself am not finished with all the updates yet. :-) More to come.

  7. I succesfully downloaded the content of our wiki, using wget. (including working offline links) wget -k -p -r -R '*Special*' -R '*Help*' -E http://wiki.thedarkmod.comAfter a wait of 4 hours, its downloaded in a folder with 1,17 GB as foldersize.(and zipped its 760 mb) When all the files are downloaded, the startpage is "index.php@title=Main_Page.html.html"
  8. i know that there are several types of backup/datatransfer/etc. But a physical TDM DVD in your collection looks cool, isnt it?
  9. I imagined and scribbled my own back-cover, using the thief 3 dvd-backcover as an example. (now i only need a better title and screenshots) See the attached sample. But i think other people can do better.
  10. you can look in your eventviewer for the crash error. https://www.howtogeek.com/123646/htg-explains-what-the-windows-event-viewer-is-and-how-you-can-use-it/ and its possible to create a memory dump http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Save_a_Memory_Dump_for_debugging_Crashes
  11. For starters, i was thinking about an dvd iso (4,7 gb) so everybody caan download and burn it them selfs. and a artwork for the jewelcase that people can print themself. going to delete the 2.07 standalone package (3gb) and replace it with some nice missions. but which ones?
  12. I was looking at my gamecollection closet. And noticed that i dont have a gamedisc for TDM. I want to create one. So People can add this dvd in their collection and use it like a backup. So I created a data collection. I hope you can help me to create this object. The only things are missing is a cover for jewelcase and your opinions. Let me know what your think about this one. You can find a list of the collection in the spoiler
  13. When you want to play the mission again, would you be so kind to generate a logfile? Before you start tdm, add/change the line in your darkmod.cfg: seta logFile "2" play the mission. If the game then chrashes, you can find a logfile (qconsole.log) inside your tdm\fm folder. You can open that file using notepad. Please post its content in a spoiler-tag in this topic. more info: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Reporting_Problem http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Debugging_TDM_systemerrors
  14. You can find information about it in our wiki. To give you a start: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Sound http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Sound_File_Formats http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Category:Voice http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Voices
  15. yes, there are several ambience scenes from the game (see spoiler) A video like that of TDM, would be nice.
  16. nice video but as a asmr fan the audio is not for me. there is not enough variation. like the engine rooms videos on yt. to promote tdm more on yt, how about creating ambience videos of locations of tdm missions.
  17. oh, there they are. with the videostartup lines. but not at the place that i expected. I didnt know that.
  18. But those logfiles dont show any video startuplines. So i keep advising to use the arguments. Its nice to hear you get tdm running, but I (or we) want to see how tdm loads your video driver How about the following command: thedarkmod.exe +condump mylog.txt and post the content op mylog.txt a tutorial to get tdm with startup the arguments running: hit the keyboard combination "windows + r", enter the following line and click on ok: c:\games\darkmod\thedarkmod.exe +condump mylog.txt +quit (assuming thats your location of the darkmod folder) or hit the keyboard combination "windows-key + r" (or search for "cmd"). a new window will apear, enther the following command in that window an click on run: cmd a new black window will apear. navigate to your tdm gamefolder by typing the following line in the black window and hit enter-key: cd c:\games\darkmod then enter the following line and hit the enterkey: thedarkmod.exe +condump mylog.txt +quit this will start tdm, generate a logfile and close tdm. open your windows explorer go to your the dark mod folder, search for mylog.txt, open it and copy its content in a new forumpost.
  19. But how to do a condump, if the game crashes? Please post also the content of darkmod.log, you can in your darkmod folder. Or create one, using the information in the wiki article above and old article: Debugging system errors
  20. People discussed this topic in the status updates. Pointed those people to this topic.
  21. The tdm 32bit binary crashes on your video driver. Please try to update your video driver.
  22. Tested on a vm with opensuse 15.0 leap 64 bit. That version of the TDM-Updater 64bit work great and TDM starts. couldnt test the other things, because TDM runs very slow on a vm.
  23. The remasterd version of myst 1 called "realmyst". Better graphics and you can walk around, instead of point-clicking. There is also a parody of Myst 1: pyst. I really enjoyed seeing that one, after playing myst 1.
  24. no, please dont start a OS benchmark here, based on a question from a beginner. please create another topic or post in the excisting one. cavador, your question is answered. But how does your system met the TDM hardware requirements? When your in doubt, just try it. its free in price. wiki article: http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=FAQ http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Performance_Tweaks http://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Installation#Requirements tip: in your case. to avoid several beginners problems, use the unofficial installer, instead the updater: http://www.thedarkmod.com/downloads/
