    Lags?

I've worked with both the HL2 engines and the D3 engines. Trust me, the D3 engine is much better to work with. The last release was laggy mainly due to some un-optimizations, this will be significantly corrected in the future trust me. The HL2 engine's shadows are severely SEVERELY limiting. The lighting is based on the old burn into the texture type and the new dynamic shadows recently implemented are just as laggy in terms of performance as the Doom3 shadows. A comparison cannot be drawn between the two engines, but I assure you that this type of game would not be applicable to the HL2 engine at all.
  2. I remember when STALKER came out people kept raving about how cool it would be to have cooperative on it and how someone should make a mod for it. However no one ever did, anyone know if this stalker will have coop?
  3. I'm looking forward to this despite Stalker 1 Just for the environments :]
  4. OHHHhhhh... haha, yea I don't think that's to much of a big deal, it may have been a problem with syncing I dunno. Either way I've never noticed this before. *I had to lean around my lcd screen to see it *
  5. It's pretty cool that this has been made purely with just the demo release
  6. AWESOME I cannot WAIT to use these !!!! [i almost pity myself for getting excited over an apple!]
  7. I laughed at the kitchen shot with the human leg on the counter

    "This is Phun"

I can't figure out how to get the springs to work or the chains to connect
  10. Great stuff!!! Keep it coming
  11. okay I have to sign up (or get signed up) for the tracker so I can start tracking bugs and such. Either way, I like going into the programing forum every once and a while and looking at all the work you guys have done I just think it's really cool
  12. I had an idea today while in lecture for a tool which could possibly be incorporated into DR. I was thinking about Doom 1 and 2 editing for some reason and I thought about how the walls didn't matter which way the vertexes were moved, in otherwords, you could make a wall any shape imaginable as long as it didn't cross over itself. You cannot do this in modern games with brushes because the brushes end up being inverted causing errors. For this reason adding details like little bumps is somewhat time-consuming. Then it hit me! Why not have a tool that can do this for DR!~!@~! The idea is that it would act like a carve tool and automatically fill in the brushes for a user-input curvature. I will use a picture as an example: To go into further detail on the idea I will explain a little more: Step 1: consists of taking a textured brush and bringing it into a window, much like the texture viewer. Step 2: consists of selecting multiple points which will be used to divide up the brush Step 3: consists of removing the outer portion of the brush. This would be done by generating the brtushes inside the selected area. At this point the user would choose to divide it horizontally or vertically. The picture shows that a horizontal divide results in 6 brushes and vertical results in 7 brushes. Perhaps the horizontal and vertical could have the number of brushes labeled as to increase performance. IMO This would be an excellent tool for mappers! Hopefully it is also possible to do. The entire thing would work on our current grid sizes as to prevent grid mis-alignment.

    "This is Phun"

Man, this has one of the messiest looking huds I've ever seen! It could really do with some sprucing up.
  15. This was stolen from www.planetdoom.com wasn't it?
  16. I want to see this Will it ever be online or anything? Because I have no idea where I'd ever be able to view this.
  17. lol! Very nice! I can wait to put these pests in my maps
  18. For some reason I cannot change the size of the model viewer window and it is so big that the okay button is below the windows bar so I cannot click it. I have to restore down the window then restore full to make it fullscreen and for the button to be visible. I've tried moving the edges to resize and it doesn't work at all.

    Fable 2

I liked the first one, except it was extremely short. Hopefully this one will be much more drawn out.
  20. I wanted to play this, but the textures have this weird glitch to them with my gpu
  21. The thought of how much work and how much time would be needed for this mod, makes me feel ill :S . I'll stick with TDM
  22. I dunno, it's an interesting concept, but the entire time I was thinking 'Tape the flashlight to the gun!' And that never happened
