  1. Ah, I too thought I was stuck there. A few times behind those sacks, even (and once even up that tree by the well!)... But you know what worked? The simple mantle (the new mechanics available here in TDM)! Not the jump mantle. Just the simple mantle. There is so much coolness with TDM!
  2. As an outsider... I think this is almost certainly the best way to go about this. So far with the limited FMs and more pressing things, I think the system works and can work until the guys working on the real (gameplay) problems are able to breathe for a moment. The system in place is cool: you've got the excellent soundtrack, the nice graphics, the working (if maybe some say limited at the moment) insta-briefing... And it's part of the x-platform foundation of TDM. It just seems that it's got to be the thing to do - improve the fantastic work that's been done. IMhO
  3. Still... I gotta tell ya... "'I'm in dire need of a breastplate here due to me being small slices of ham every time in compact" is still coming up...
  4. Resolved! Great work! Plus! I'm not crazy! Thanks for understanding my weak attempt to find if this had been reported.
  5. I meant to report this the first time it happened, but there are so many cool things that do work that I forgot! While beta-testing for Sonosuke's upcoming "Living Expenses" (which so far has done an excellent job of exploiting the greatness that is TDM), I got myself in a situation that, as I said has happened before in another FM, was quite frustrating if not for the fact that I'd quick-saved just proir... I have a shouldered body that I cannot drop. I'm not in a tight space; I can walk in to the middle of a huge space and still not drop this damnable heap of a burden! Sorry if this is a known bug I gave a little search but found nothing... delete as necessary.
  6. IMO, the more story (conversations, banter, chit-chat, readables, grumblings, mumblings, lore) the better. Absolutely.
  7. I'll say from an outsider's point of view that it looks great to me and I'm excited about the way so many creative people are able to contribute to TDM. This coming year really should be the year of the TDM explosion! Nice, nice work, y'all ETA: Oh, I came in here wanting to laugh at the title of this thread. Sounds like an online 'model' requesting 'gifts' for 'posing'.
  8. I love this! It's like Christians arguing over where the spikes (nails!) went in Jesus' (Christ's!) hands & feet (wrists! &! ankles!); Trekkies at odds over some incidental alien language interpretation; or the earlier convo about Haunts and flashbombs... No logic need be applied, really.
  9. Now... you're talking illogical and insane. Knockout-able spiders... sheesh...please...no way...implauzablee impozzable. But, seriously. No. You can gas'em or slash'em or shoot'em or even blow 'em up real-good... But smack'em to sleep? Nahahahahahah. Or. Maybe so.
  10. I'll help... If I can. I'm assuming you've just need to make sure that your English doesn't 'sound' awkward? PM the text to me and I'll give it a read -- and, if necessary, adjustment. I'll probably be able to participate in the beta-testing as well.
  11. Fetch hither the fromage de la Belle France!
  12. Shopping for cheese can be quite fun(ny).
  13. What an odd unattributed quote that... there... then
  14. Can we please, perhaps, privately or publicly, propose or put into practice a poll on the permissibility of polls that purport to push parameters pertaining to plebeian plebiscites?
  15. Well, I've played it (the first of the Xmasians) and I must say I'm impressed beyond what I expected. Lots of opportunities to approach things in so many different ways; lots of extras/enhancements; lots of good things, for sure.
  16. I would like to take a poll on how people feel about ToadTadWater's suggestion that he might be out of line with respect to certain members of the community's unwarranted, unsolicited and un-unringable undertaking to implement a series of polls to test the waters on sticking a tad of one's toed in the proverbial water. How would I go about doing that?
  17. You know I'm a huge fan of TDM. But it's in beta, and there are a lot of issues to be ironed out, and over the coming year I'm confident you all will work them out AND some great, astonishing, brilliant, exemplary, wow!-factoring, ground-breaking FMs exploiting the fantastic potential will come. 2010 will be the year. 2010 will be a year that TDM will legitimately be The Mod Of The Year. I don't think you'll even have to campaign... But, honestly, I can't give it to you for 2009.
  18. What about this: ? Edit: I guess though the patch is 1.3... the app .exe doesn't acknowledge that.
  19. It's beyond starting to get kinda weird how many odd & different problems are being reported... Ain't it?
  20. Though, to be fair, going back to TTLG forums reveals it to be almost completely reduced to an insular mess of bittermen... the place has deteriorated over the years; as do forums. TDM is the most exceptional thing to happen to the Thief world since the advent of FMs. Bigger and more important and more potential than any of the previously hailed big projects. This. Mod. Is. Fantastic. There must be some politicalsomethingorother going on not to have more fanfare. There's always some politicalsomethingorother wherever and whenever, of course, but this is just a little weird. Or maybe everyone but the bittermen and diehards have just drifted and the return is gonna take a while...
  21. That's the most bizarre thing I've read today! And there's alotta weird shit going on in the world. So, congrats, thestemmer, congrats.
