  1. If you used a cool, medium blue (like how the sky is at mid day) for the sky, to contrast with the warm light blue you've used for the water, it should be ok given that you've got the golden sand as a barrier between the blues, even from the perspective of someone lying in the bath. Edit: Maybe even use some patches to make the clouds come out of the wall, like someone made them out of white cloth with something like feathers in it, to give it a more 3D effect? Perhaps a fan behind a sand coloured grate behind the tree to create a "wind" effect in the room, so the plants move around a little? Depends how "realistic" the tropical bathroom is supposed to be, I guess
  2. Perhaps paint them to look like the sky on a sunny tropical day? Mostly light blue, with the odd tuft of white cloud, and maybe in the distance, a few birds? Noone expects the sky to be "full of stuff", so that might be an easy way to have your empty upper walls look in place?
  3. I'd personally like to see the wiki pages updated (I've got 25 or so pages from it bookmarked, for example), and the wiki does have the pre-existing "headspace benefit", if that's the right phrase, of having been around for a long time, people constantly link to pages from it/have them bookmarked, and it's got a link at the top of the forum index. That said, a companion .pdf for those who want to access the content offline is also a bonus. Why not meet halfway, and build a companion .pdf and update the wiki at the same time, so that regardless of which way you choose to access the information, you're getting the info that actually works with current TDM/DR builds?
  4. Haha yeah I know, I doubt she'd have liked the post if she thought I was trying to tell her what to do. Srsly though, this should have a poll... perhaps one with a sixth option, that says something like "Boom! How's that for a deposit, Benevolent?!"
  5. I tried to use 2.0 yesterday, and it would repeatedly crash when attempting to set invert mouse in camera view under the camera settings pane of preferences, has anyone else reported this or was it just affecting me?
  6. Photobucket is still kicking around, for another alternative.
  7. Don't you dare link that wolf pack thing.
  8. Maayyyyybeeee? (Yes! Loved it!). Does Mr MacLeod do lots of that sort of music? The slow semi-spooky decrepit castle at midnight with candles kinda music that you'd think Black Metal was all about until you actually listened to it?
  9. Loved the music, very atmospheric! Did anyone else find a certain little somethin' somethin'?
  10. Seconded, Mark of the Ninja is amazing.
  11. I'd love to see some ninja themed missions, though I expect textures, music and voices to be the biggest hurdle to seeing that any time soon (oh and models )
  12. FPS: 47 System: Radeon 7870 2gb, Core I7 2600k, 8gb ddr3-1600, Gigabyte p67 mobo, Win7 SP1 Catalyst version: 14.4 Screen resolution: 4320x900 AAx0, AFx1, Vsync Off, Ambient render and Interact shader Enhanced
  13. Gettin a Limbo vibe from that screenshot, is the gameplay anything alike? I haven't heard of any of those other games before.
  14. Ah, point taken. In that case, ignore me (speaking of which, I have Condemned sitting around here, really need to get around to playing it at some point)
  15. Do you mean The Evil Within? It's on steam now, and I know Outlast is too (unless you're referring to a sequel to either game, in which case ignore me)
  16. I always figured the gas in the gas arrows/mines was clear, but for gameplay reasons had a colour, so the guards wouldn't actually be able to see it (though a guard following far enough behind should notice his friends falling over unconscious next to the funny little metal thing on the floor). Maybe if alerted AI could try to avoid mines by pathing around them (which leaves them as killer chokepoint guardians)
  17. 3 guards moving in formation down a hall sounds like the absolutely perfect time to employ a gas arrow/fire arrow/mine/gas mine
  18. How about an "All clear in here!" de-escalation bark, same sort of system as the "I've found an intruder!" escalation bark. I figured the hardest part would be any kind of organised movement (which probably shows how much I know).
  19. Not knowing how complicated that would be, I just figured it would be a case of 3 AI searching, recognising they're in an ad-hoc "squad", finding a door. - one waypoint assigned to AI 1/3 in the hall just past the door - one waypoint assigned to AI 2/3 at the door way - one waypoint assigned to AI 3/3 in the room to search it Chances are, having AI realise they're in a team is the complicated part. I'm assuming I've missed something here, and it's probably the AI working cooperatively part. I also thought about how such an ad-hoc squad would work, and the best I came up with was a captain system. If all the guards are the same guard rank, the first person to get the alert knows the most about the threat, and assumes leadership of the squad. If a higher ranked guard is in the squad (like 1 pro guard and 2 normal guards) then the pro guard is the captain. For situations with 2 pro guards, I guess whichever pro guard hears about the threat first assumes captain.
  20. How about sweeping an area? Say for instance in a hallway with a room off it, one guard will stand by the door, one stands in the hallway facing towards the unsearched area, and a third goes into the room to search? After clearing the room, all 3 regroup in the hall and move further down until the next junction/room?
  21. If everyone takes that philosophy, doesn't that mean that the one person who refuses to change dictates how everyone else does things? To use the examples from the above replies, you have people who think a nipple on TV is worse than Satan bumming Hitler while Stalin "entertains" Mao in the corner, but low rating TV shows featuring graphic violence are perfectly fine. If noone "allows it to become a problem for themselves", and do nothing, that's how it's going to stay. At some point the person who refuses to change must be dragged, kicking and screaming, into the future, or left behind. Doing nothing simply allows them to retain control over how the rest of us do things. Besides, just like the Blues, Rock 'n' Roll, Heavy Metal, Rap, Movies, Television, the printed word, none have caused the collapse of society or heralded the coming of Satan, so all those other people who didn't want to change who weren't allowed to dictate to everyone else how to live, haven't had any lasting effect, why let this be different? No More Room in Hell has zombie children, they've refused to remove them despite people having a pants-wet about "the chillunz" and I think the game is far better for it (the zombie children are some of the most dangerous enemies in the game, too).
