  1. The Lee Hazlewood/Nancy Sinatra song had one problem: clunky drums. Giant Sand & Lisa German fixed it in 1998 with a latino rhythm: One can almost smell the American/Mexican desert. Hm, yeah, it is fitting for this hot weekend in Central Europe as well. Let's hope for rain in the coming days. Have a nice weekend, whereever you are.
  2. This is really strange, I have an already integrated objective where you have to drop a person in a certain location, and this works without problems. Anyways, thanks, stumpy for your efforts.
  3. But that's what I did: - gave the objective location "open" the property "objective_ent - 1" - gave the objective location "closed" the propery "objective_ent - 1" - gave the door entity (hammer) the property "objective_ent - 1" ...but nothing happens, see attached demo. obj.test
  4. Hello stumpy, "and on the entity used to trigger is entity in location" --> sorry, I do not understand, what does that mean?
  5. I have an entity (sliding door) that can travel between to objective locations. If the entity is in the first location (open), the relevant objective shall be completed and a completion target shall fire (in this case, a changetarget entity). If the entitiy is in the second location (closed), then the referring objective for this status shall be completed (again with a completion target). The problem is, I do not get the objectives working. I looked into "Requiem" and copied the settings perfectly, but it does not work. I have attached an example map below. Could somebody be so kind and have a look? I don't understand why it is not working. Jack obj.txt
  6. Tin Machine's version of a Roxy Music classic: The songs caught on the live album from 1992 were even crazier and...more rampant (if that is the correct word). The guy on the lead guitar (Reeves Gabrels) is incredible...and so is his hair cut! And the drummer? Oh, man...
  7. Velvet Underground's John Cale transformation of an Elvis Presley cult hit: Back then this take was described as "manic-depressive". I do not know about you, but I prefer John Cale over Lour Reed. He is a beter singer, he is more creative....and I personally find him very funny! :)
  8. Yeah, I agree with you, the original is also great.
  9. During German City Festivals it became quite common to cast "cover bands". Most of these try to imitate original, popular songs recorded between 1950 and the present age. The results: nothing for me The music industry started this trend a long time ago and it resulted in a lot of hits. The results: (mostly) nothing for me In general, these "cover artists" are just mimicing the originals as they do during the festivals I have mentioned above. British musician Bryan Ferry did a lot of "cover versions", but he preferred the expression "readaption" for a certain reason: he wanted his interpretations to be different. Please post here links to videos, comments, mp3s or whatever you have to real readaptions of existing songs (known or unknown, live or studio) you think would deserve much more attention. Let met start with oustanding musicians from Sweden: First Aid Kit interpreting Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill". Since I found this take, I find the original version unaccceptable. The comments on YT are so embarassing. These girls are no angels; they are elfs. Check out their original works if you are interested in alternative folk rock with strong American country roots. Till now, they have recorded four albums.
  10. I need a new voice actor for my thief. Is there somebody out there who can point me to someone or could handle the job himself?

@duzuenko: you don;t want to heart that. It would be like Taylor Swift pretending to be Tom waits! :)

  11. Sorry, I am not familar with the command "testmap" and thus I though you started mapping without watching the Springheel or Sotha videos first. After learning about the command I agree with VanishedOne. You should consider using the command "dmap xxx" followed by "map xxx" to prevent the problems he mentioned. I am not sure whether LDash is right or I do not understand correctly. However, as far as I recall from statements on this forum, the compiler does not care if you build in grid size 1, 16 or 64. Most important thing is to avoid leaks, and using larger grid sizes helps preventing leaks.
  12. Maybe you should start here: This should answer most of your questions
  13. Jep, I agree with Destined, but in general: DM or Thief missions without torches (even if they do not make sense in the areas they are positioned) is like asking for Heavy Metal music without electric guitars. On the other hand: The upcoming mission "Hidden Hands: Vitalic Fever" will not include a single torch for the reasons zergrush/Destined mentioned above. Hm....it is not that easy! Jack

  15. Hello Marzec, Thank you for this! I like the design of this page, very atmospheric. I have installed T2 + relevant patch yesterday and I am looking forward to playing lots of FMs now. Jack
  16. Stock? Oh babe, oh babe, oh babe, I have to check this with respect to your map design. Thanks for the hint! Jack
  17. You've ghosted it on the highest difficulty level without using at least one water arrow? Good man/woman! (Could not do that myself! ) I hope that "Hidden Hands: Vitalic Fever" will be more challenging for you! :) Jack
  18. Hello Bienie, Update: Conclusion: I think it is time that I come for your computer to have it smashed. I can't allow another AAA mapper here with all the other great authors already working here. Thank you again for this mission! Jack
  19. I like this one. Is this from a mission to be released later this year?
  20. Hello 1o8, Thank you for the clarification. I have the feeling that you have true passion for TDS...and I can understand that. I think DS provides the same threatening atmosphere established by its predecessors I have to admit that I played TDS using the third person mode, because I liked it somehow and it made the game easier. I would not say that the animations are that bad. Example: Skyrim - the stealth animations there are not really better and the game was developed long after TDS. However, I wish you the very best with your project!
  21. Hello Bienie, Congrats on the release, very cool atmosphere! You are releasing new missions at a breakneck pace. Thus I came to the conclusion that you are a machine desgined for mapping! Jack
