  1. Well the art direction of DX1 is Totally different than DX2 or Human Revolution and beyond. The maps in DX1 are current, rather than cyberpunk style, in fact DX1 art direction is quite 90's very X-Files, Terminator etc. The cyberpunk elements are in the NPC's, the Mechs, the weapons, the augs etc. Those are the elements that give DX1 the cyberpunk touch. But the Maps were pretty much current. It's like a vision of the non distant future from a 90's perspective. On the other hand, Human Revolution and Mankind divided are completely different to DX1, more as in Metal Gear wanabe, like Deus Ex dreaming of Metal Gear. With the Square Enix Final Fantasy touch of two tier Cities and exaggerated landscapes as wallpaper, a more abstract approach rather than the tangible feel of DX1. Not to mention the distasteful piss look of HR, like let's use some winning formulas of Metal Gear and Deus Ex and let's piss on it to make it ours so we get some credit for the success and not all the credit goes to the original creators. Happens every time with winning formulas.
  2. Have you guys played the DX1 Mod Unreal Revolution? IMO this is the most convenient approach for this project since not all FM makers will be able to pull those super intricate maps. Something more simple, almost minimalist with simple textures and emphasis in fun game play as well a good plethora of art assets to decorate and give it a sci fi feel (ie Graffiti, Neon Signs etc). This could increase the potential of more FM creation flow as well as to keep the congruence among missions since not all the mappers will be able to create something like that amazing looking Phobos mod and to focus more into creating situations and fun game play elements. Like I see myself trying to do missions like this since seems way less intimidating than the TDM or that Phobos Mod.
  3. Well most members in this forum are Thief Fans so no surprise all this controversy and juicy drama was brewing in the shadows.
  4. Wow! I had no idea about this issue with Bikerdude. He's one of my favorite members here. Hope the ban will be lifted over time. I do understand the severity of the situation. The saddest part is he posted some really nice pics about an FM he was about to finish.
  5. Perhaps some sort of soft eye adaptation, something similar to Chronicles of Riddick but subtle. There's an eye adaptation option in Reshade and I use it for Thief 1, 2 and DX1. Works really well.
  6. Just started playing this mission. The map is stunningly beautiful and the whole scale and design seems impeccable.
  7. Deus Ex 1. No surprise this game is considered the best of all times by many and I agree. System Shock 2 is pretty close.
  8. So you haven't checked any of the packages yet? Not all the textures are just coping and aligning. So I was just making that little 1/10 step of selecting, cropping white edges and aligning textures that is such a breeze to do. Worst case scenario, someone who doesn't find it a breeze could use them or worse, someone could use them for TG or T2 fms, since I don't usually post in ttlg. Yep and sorry about the email thing but it was the only file managing site I found which didn't restrict file sizes. I'll just post the links of things I find interesting like Aosys.
  9. Another Compilation of Windows Textures (Aligned and trimmed). 60+ Textures included: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/733150/Windows.rar Examples:
  10. Ready to use as they are aligned and won't leave a hole when you use them. A few can connect like tiles.
  11. A compilation of ready to use and aligned textures of Egyptian theme The most interesting ones I found. Some made tillable and others can be made tillable: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/733084/Egypt.rar Examples:
  12. Some Concrete and Painted Walls pack: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/732904/Concretes.rar Examples:
  13. Good stuff! This is the Lion Head I mentioned:
  14. Wow, some of the stuff from the museum are really nice. Here's a few finds: There's also lots and lots of temple and Egyptian textures. I found a Lion Fountain head, wood cabinets, really nice tiles and dozens of interesting concretes. I need a good hosting site.
  15. Good luck with this project Snehk. The layout looks good.
  16. Exactly. Or even smaller. In my opinion, the ideal one should integrate everything in a simple way.
  17. I voted Near Perfect Story wise cause these are the types of stories I want to see in TDM. Crude and Controversial, I also loved the presentation. I had this mission in the back burner cause of the lag but glad I finally gave it a go. I would like to see more from NeonStyle. But please be more aware of the lag. Lag is a player's worst enemy. Worth playing more than once. Congrats!
  18. It doesn't have to be colorful.
  19. If the AI notices lock picking noises then two or more lock picks make sense game play wise for added tension.
  20. It's a raw layout of a concept Obsttorte. You have to imagine it with the same colors and structure of the original light gem. Here's another concept which includes both health and sound meter:
  21. The light gem makes noise take a backseat. I'm rarely concerned about the noise I create unlike lighting cause the light gem is right there on my face. That's the point. Is more of a sub conscience thing. In This War of Mine, noise is as important as line of sight and it does a lot of difference cause there's a visual cue for noise.
