  1. Watch at your own risk:

  2. Ok, this was the first mission I played yesterday after the long break from TDM and well, the looks of the city were quite amazing and I enjoyed it if it wasn't for a few palces where I got stuck in collision of things. More in spoilers:
  3. Ok I went to sleep before rateing this one for I have raged at the end of the game of last evening. I can't say it was a beginner mission - no it was definetly higher level, which is good. What did bothered me a lot in this mission though was the major LAG in city area, it was horrrrrrbile. If it wasn't for that and the fact that game finally crashed at one moment and i just had to collect some more loot to leave maybe I wouldnt be so harsh on that point. Basically the FPS on the map should be higher or shouldnt at least fall so much in one area and raise in the other. Graphically it was sometimes very nice and I enjoyed it, almost good job.
  4. This is a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful mission! The amount of fun and laughs I had with this one was amazing and I enjoyed it fully. At first glance I thought it will be another grab the loot and get out mission by a beginner with corny look of the environment(which was a little corny here and there) but then it was getting better and funnier and better! Glad to finally have chance to play this one.
  5. Grid positioning looks like a badass feature! Wonder if there is such in UDK...
  6. I always jump up the rope which is also very fast and unrealistic, so what? It's pretty darn useful!
  7. IMHO Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore is the most impressive building in the world. Anyone has a competitor?

I'm more of a castle guy I guess. If you had to pick one, maybe Mont Saint Michael, just because of its dramatic setting: http://thecontaminated.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/mont-saint-michel-1.jpg

Historically the most impressive & important building in the world had to be the Hagia Sofia. Originally dedicated in 360, it was the largest cathedral for over 1000 years, the first mega-dome, and single-handedly changed architectural history. http://www.sacred-destinations.com/turkey/istanbul-hagia-sophia-photos/slides/exterior-cc-Cybjorg-flickr.jpg

Hmmm... There are too many beautiful buildings around, indeed. It also depends on what speaks to you: the building that stuck to my mind the most in recent time was the Pantheon in Rome, because of its simple expressive space (ignore the religious clutter inside).

  8. I am watching lately a series called Downton Abbey which is set in the beginning of 20th century and I just love the Highclere Castle in which it was filmed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highclere_Castle The soap opera is real worth watching!
  9. so ehm the whole thing consists of 6 parts which I have set here up to show that the whole thing is repeatable: Wall arch(grey) middle arch(blue) rib(white) vault(violet) pillar(white) pedestal(grey) I will also cut the pillar in half for wallarch and the keystone is missing since I still can't decide what keystone would suit it. I am quite happy with result and now to achieve personal goal of self improvement, I need to texture this bastard.
  10. is 100 000 poly scene gonna lag in DR?

I'm actually asking for this thing because I have created a model in 3ds Max and I'm wondering if it will be useable. I dont even have DR on computer now, lol...

Aye, GDG... you'd have to watch the light-count carefully. Even a shadow-mesh won't completely absolve you of that. Each light will double the polys of the model since Doom 3 will consider it all one surface. Fortunately, modern video-cards can chew through polys with ease. Not so for the CPU's and the shadow polys though... Anyway, it could work... just watch your light count.

  11. Howdy there! Yea it looks aweful, but you'll sure do great in the end. Our last beginner's contest showed that ther is no such thing as a beginner in our community! Keep working!
