Thief completes 430 million pound loot objective

Objectives:

Find a way to enter the art museum

Steal at least 400 million in art.

Do not harm anyone

Do not cause any alerts.

When all else is done, make your escape

A masked thief climbed in a window and carefully removed paintings from their frames then made his escape. Mission complete. Deja vu.

And the next night in a candlelit room the strange 'customers' offer the thief a most refreshing drink saying..

"Yes. You were being tested. Do you understand? And I must say,

you more than live up to your reputation. You are quite an extraordinary

Thief."

Knockouts While Airborne: 0

Bah. <_<

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

Actually it was mission failure, he missed the last part of the loot objective that said "...and at least 350 in gems". That's gotta be a real kick in the pants to steal 430 million in art, and still fail the loot objective.

I'd really like to see the security video - especially if he used a rope arrow to get up to the balcony. There was no mention of any moss to silence the breaking of the window but I suspect the police are keeping that quiet for now. Classic thief entry.

he probably cased the joint first, left a matchstick in the lock of the window so it wouldn't shut properly, then that night climb up a nearby building, zip lined across, through unlocked window, already knew where they kept the real paintings as the ones on show were fakes. Picked the lock on the cabinet, stole the paintings, then removed them from their frames on that bridge and escaped via boat.

maybe its a publicity stunt for oceans 14.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.

Trying to be productive on my down-time before Capcom releases Akuma and my son is constantly on my PC playing Street Fighter...

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.
