Movement feels and looks skewed to the right

After not playing for a while I installed to my new computer the latest version.

When I walk/run it is like I am walking diagonally instead of forward's.

My girlfriend agrees so is it just my computer or does anyone else have this problem ?

Actually I have seen something like that before, I think it was a problem with FOV, aspect ratio or zoom or something, but I don't recall exactly. Try fiddling with the resolution or aspect ratio settings in the menus, or adjusting the cvars g_fov and r_aspectRatio.

In the past a few ATI users complained about moving sideways. I think turning off catalyst AI fixed it.

Have you tried turning off Post-Processing specifically? That seems to create problems for ATI users - for myself and at least one other, it causes a strange "fish-eye" perspective effect when active.

Or ward the tulwar's downward blow

The odds are on the cheaper man."

I've had the problem a few times, where you walk around at like 45% to the left/right and your movement is also wonky. For me it resolved by restarting TDM, but I think a friend had the same thing happen due to Cat AI. It feels a bit like you're completely drunk while trying to mess around when its like that :V

I've had this as well a couple times, but I think it's something completely different. I think it's the result of the mantle animation not completing 100%, so you end up in this weird 'drunk' mode. You can get out of it by noclipping then noclip again to fall the the ground. Sure would be cool if this mode could be enabled if you drink too many bottles of wine. laugh.gif

Well I could not disable cat AI(WTF were they thinking of ??) so I tried the executable rename and then it just stopped loading at all.

I renamed it but it still wouldnt work... I deleted and redownloaded the mod but nothing.

Doom3 would load though...

Next I went to reinstall doom3 but my lovely daughter and her friends were playing in the basement and my doom3 disc3 is missing.

I will have to buy the game again before I can try it again thanks for all the replys though.

Ok Found my missing doom3 cd in the bottom of my daughters toychest. Her bottom doesnt like me right now!

Apparently I had put it in 16:10 mode instead of 16:9 was my problem.

A whole lotta grief and trouble over my silly mistake.

Thanks for the help.

Hey @nbohr1morehow come the zombies in The Dark Mod don't have a "resurrection" mechanic to it, similar to how Thief has it?
They're quite a weak creature as of right now, it's merely a walking corpse that slashes you, making attacking them to kill them an actual strategy.
Would be better if they had some cool mechanism to it that truly makes them a danger, such as the resurrection idea itself.

Query: when was the last time a zombie in a video game was unnerving or scary to you? I'm chipping away at my anniversary submission and I've been trying to gather opinions on the subject. I'm perfectly capable of lighting them well, changing their sfx, and creating effective ambience, but I'm worried that zombies at their core are just too overdone to be an effective payoff to the tension I'm creating.

Has anyone had any luck with textures from Polyhaven? Their OpenEXR normal maps seem too washed out and give incorrect shading in the engine.

I tried to upscale the TDM logo video. First try:

briefing_video.mp4 You can test it ingame by making a copy of the core tdm_gui.mtr and place it in your-tdm-root/materials/ , then edit line 249 of that file into the location where you placed the new briefing.mp4 file.
What I did was I extracted all the image files, then used Upscayl to upscale the images using General photo (Real-Esrgan) upscale setting and then turn it back into a video.
I might have to crop it a bit, the logo looks smaller on screen (or maybe it's actually better this way?). My video editor turned it into a 16:9 video, which I think overal looks better than 1:1 video of original.
