Weird graphics issue... a friend is having issues

Hey everyone, a Steam friend of mine is trying to get TDM running and is having a few graphics issues. (I do believe he runs decent machine.

Been awhile and I was never good at troubleshooting this stuff anyway. And I haven't seen this before, look familiar?

These are also issues he's having:

FOV is narrow

The ingame menu is fuzzy as fuck for any mission but the training mission

ATI Radeon 5900 series

Dark is the sway that mows like a harvest

Also the in game menu being fuzzy for everything but the training mission, usually means that he installed the training mission, then changed his resolution settings.

To fix that, uninstall the training mission, have him set his resolution to 1920x1200, quit Dark Mod. Go back in and the menu should be not fuzzy. This resolution will also propagate to the missions when they are installed and first run.

The issue with the colors can be fixed with "tdm_updateCookedMathData 1" in the console. For the low fov, type "/seta g_fov 90" in the console also. Restart Darkmod.

Then he can install the Training mission, but before doing that, make sure he goes into the training mission FM folder and delete the ini file there so a new one gets created, based on the main one.

EDIT: I believe this happened because each mission had it's own separate ini file so you could change things while playing a mission, and once uninstalled, the settings would revert back to before you installed that mission because Dark Mod is now using the ini file in the main directory.

This won't happen in 1.08 though AFAIK. Which is coming very soon.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Finally got round to publishing a tutorial on baking normal maps in Blender, since most of the ones we have are inaccessible or years out of date.

The FAQ wiki is almost a proper FAQ now. Probably need to spin-off a bunch of the "remedies" for playing older TDM versions into their own article.

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.
