Downloading fan missions, stuck on "downloading mirror list", TDM 2.0

edit: oops I made a typo. it was not mirror list. it was MISSION list. I already have the full game downloaded. This is the in-game mission downloader. thanks for all the links to the game though.

 

So I did a clean install of of TDM 2.0. I was told that all available FM in the in-game downloader would be compatible with 2.0. After clicking to download more than just the training and one mission, it just stays on the "downloading mission list". Is this because the servers are getting hard on release or is there something else I should be aware of?

The load in this case, is from people visiting the main page.

The torrents are going smoothly, seeding away merrily with 200mbps.

Some missions are hosted elsewhere. Requiem, in particular (a damn fine FM, if I do say so), is hosted on mediafire. Just download the .zip or .pk4 and plonk it in "darkmod/fms"

yes, the problem is many are on fidcal and that's one of the servers that was crawling for me while downloading the main game so I can't expect much better now. I guess I'll have to wait it out!

I'm just going to copy-paste my advice in here from another thread:

 

You don't have to use the in-game mission downloader. You can directly download the mission files in your browser and put them in "darkmod/fms".

Before going that route, try the in-game downloader again. We've configured an additional server to take on the load (hopefully). If it still doesn't work, you might just need to wait a bit longer for DNS to update.
